I typically hate drawing 2-page spreads... I think they take up room that could otherwise be used for storytelling.But when it comes to fight scenes, there's no better way to go.

Hahaha, wow that's an awesome style you have. I was wondering, how... uh... messy, does this series get battle-wise? (I usually tend to walk away slowly from something around Invincible's level of it lol)

I try not to get too gory -- the amount of blood you see on this panel is about as much as you'd see in the book in total. A few swipes here and there. Mostly, I didn't want to get too nuts because 10,000 other people are drawing guts-a-plenty in their books. A little violence for realism's sake is okay with me, but there's a point you get to where the focus becomes solely how gory a volume is, and that wasn't what I was going for in this series. A lot of my fans know me as a Sonic artist, after all.

Ah, yeah. The over-the-top gore really gets out of hand, and boring too when many people do it (unless they take it too a new level, which is when I get revolted by it lol). I do really like where you're taking it, trail toward realism, but don't let it overshadow the main idea of the story (both in perspective and in plot). I'll be excited to see where the story goes. One more thing, it doesn't get too vulgar, right?

Nah. Hells and damns now and then. Again, probably not more than once a book. No explicit sex, though characters will be seen in bed together. I can't say what one person's definition of vulgar versus another's will be, but if it isn't your cup of tea, then there's plenty else in this genre that would be.

So how long have you been working on this series? You seem to have the style of the comic down excellently, which I can't imagine how long it would take, especially for someone like me who isn't exactly good at drawing or coloring (on the other hand, I have plenty of inking experience

Yes indeed! Though I had the idea some time ago (last year at least) I started the gruntwork of it in January. I have one issue published so far and another coming in April. There will be four issues in the first "book" of the series, and more to follow. Along with the individual issues, I'll be offering collected editions, as well. 
I've been drawing comics for many years and have had lots of practice. All I can say is dive in! You'll surprise yourself.

Ah, yeah I might plan to get a comic going someday, though I have a long way to go because I'm pitiful at drawing atm.
BTW, do you do inks for your comic or drawings at all? I was wondering if you ever had interest in seeing your pics inked.

I do inks now and again -- the work I'm doing with Varulv is my way of letting my pencils shine, which is always something I wanted to do with a book. Anyone's welcome to try their hand at inking what I put up on the internet, though!
