*Fangirls* Dark Walter! Flossing his teeth! Even though I'm not fond of his new personality (mostly for decimating Alex's corpse) his new looks are awsome and I love this picture! I love how you did his shirt and the wires. He looks so arrogant - however with the skills he has he has every right to be.
Also I think the starksness compliments the picture rather than taking away from it.

It's weird that since Walter began siding with Millennium -and got rejuvenated!- everybody thinks he's hot. Of course he is, but he was hot to begin with! Or am I just having somekind of a "old guy complex" here?

well, as an artist who regularly uses blank backgrounds - it ain't all good.
sometimes, if you don't jazz it up, it looks megaboring, and sucks major monkey butt. you don't have to worry, but Imma lazy artist, so I'm just warning you that the minimalistic look can often be used without much thought... I like what you did with the picture though - and I'm still a fan!
and Walter is hot.

Personally I have a problem simplifying things - I tend to overdo artwork instead. (except iSing; most my works border on messy
Some people use minimalism as an excuse, some are their true styles, either way starkness is not my forte, just wanted to see if I could make a piece without much fuss (and not seeming like the lazy ass that I already am.

I always have ideas of where I put people - but my perspective isn't good enough, so it trashes it up when I have a go, unless it's really simple. (one memorable occurence was a large window behind two of my characters.) it was okay once I scanned it, but I felt really silly. and IRL the picture looks really odd.
I dunno, I try to make the character the centre of everything. current case in point is my most recent deviation - it actually is good enough to view this time... 
in terms of skill, that is. I'll never be a bona-fide designer like you, but I think my style has settled into something approaching something where I can offer my skills without cringing.
