Zuko and Ursa reunited once again. (Finally)I figured Ursa would have some reaction to seeing what happened to Zuko when she wasn't there. (She had most probably already heard of it, but to actually see him standing in front of her, I think that would get quite emotional.)
(Shading is not my thing and I still insist on doing it, sigh.)
(This is the third time Zuko's hugging a woman from this perspective (2 other times were with Katara) I didn't even realize it till I started coloring it...oh well)
(The atla comics (The Promise, The Search etc.) are not my canon, I may like some parts of it but over all, it just pisses me off how they keep screwing Zuko over for the plot so this drawing is not associated with the comic in any way. I want Azula to get better and be happy, but it's Zuko and Katara on this field trip, makes sense that she'd want to help him find his mother since she's the one who understands him the most and Ursa could approach both Azula and Ozai if she decides to return to the Fire Nation with Zuko. ((Her clothes mightttt give it away, but she's living in the Earth Kingdom))(And even tho Katara's with them, I wanted this to be about Zuko and Ursa so that's why she's not included in the drawing)

I was sad for Zuko, Ursa and even Azula when I read the Search. I didn't believe the prophecy one bit when I read the comic because Ozai looked like he concucted the whole scheme just so he can have powerful heirs to take down Iroh and Lu Ten, and he treated Zuko to get back at Ursa for her fake letter? That shows how childish he is and I understand why Ursa wrote that letter because when Zuko was born he wanted to throw him out because he thought he was weak so even if Ursa never wrote that letter he would still hurt Zuko. And she probably not only wanted to punish Ozai for keeping her from her parents, but also wanted to punish him for being a terrible father to Zuko by saying, "If you are going to treat our son like this, you don't deserve to be his father!"
And for Azulon to command Ozai to kill Zuko when he is part of this so called prophecy, that is proof it was a lie by Ozai because Azulon is going against the prophecy the sages made by having powerful benders and is going to kill one of them.
And so many people are hating on Ursa saying she made Ozai into the bad man he is when he was a bad man from the beginning! And they say she is a bad mom to Azula when she disciplines her for her horrible behavior and how Ursa forgot her kids just to have the life with Ikem that was stolen from her, that's not true, while she wanted to be with Ikem and wanted her children, she had no choice but to forget her kids because Ozai would try to kill her if she tried coming back for them even if she did switch faces, and if she did try to be with them with a new face she would of ended up seeing Zuko in the Agni Kai and see Ozai scar their sons face and banish him and she would witness Azula becoming more evil even if she tries to correct her as the maid or whatever identity she would of taken in the palace.
Either way Ursa was never going to see her kids again until Ozai was stopped at his tracks by Zuko himself.

That's what should've happened in The Search Part 3 instead of Azula running away.
Can you do a scene where Azula reconciles with her mother?

She new what kind of person Ozai was. Β She should have killed him too, or taken Zuko with her when she went away.Β

She couldn't. Zuko was the heir, if she had taken the children, there'd be no way they'd get far before they'd get caught and Ursa would probably be either sent to prison for life or put on death row for treachery. I think she told Ozai in the comic not to hurt the children, not sure tho since I don't remember and don't consider it my canon anyway, but I think she'd ask Ozai to at least take good care of them. She risked her life to save Zuko's and then Ozai burnt Zuko and put him through hell. Just imagine the guilt Ursa would feel for having to leave him behind and not being able to return till Ozai was no longer a threat or the risk of her getting arrested if someone would recognize her. I just want her and Zuko to be happy and reunited once again

I blame Iroh for the same reasons. Β If he felt the war was wrong, why did he not assume the throne as his birthright and end it?Β

Everyone has their flaws, even Iroh. He was way too devastated with the loss of his son to take over as fire lord and after Azulon died, I guess Iroh just didn't want anything to do with ruling the fire nation and dealing with the war, Ozai might've taken over anyway even if Iroh tried to stop the war cause he'd probably have the fire nation army backing him up on taking over instead of Iroh. Even in the end of season 3 Iroh didn't want to become the fire lord, he wanted Zuko, a man with unquestionable honor to help bring peace and balance to the world and he saw that Zuko was the one most well fit for the job.

As an aside, how do you think history might have played out if Iroh had died and Lu Ten had lived?Β

Idk how the royalty stuff works but if Iroh died then either Lu Ten would be the direct heir to the throne or Ozai would, but idk who comes first. Lu Ten looked old enough to take the throne tho, seeing as Zuko became Fire Lord at 16-17. Idk how Zuko would grow up if Iroh died that early, his uncle is such an important part in his life, he's someone Zuko could rely on, the only one in the family he had left that believed in him and wanted him to be happy. Lu Ten and Zuko had a good relationship from what we saw from The Beach episode's flashback, but idk if Lu Ten would be as important as Iroh, I'm sure he would support him and try to guide him like a brother, but if Lu Ten became Fire Lord I wonder what Ozai would do, if he would try to get Lu Ten killed or if he would step back and let him have the throne which I doubt he would.

I believe there would have been a fire nation civil war. Β I wonder if the White Lotus Society would have aided Lu Ten? Β Not too mention what the larger world would have looked like with Lu Ten instead of Iroh?

Idk what Ozai would've done to get the throne if both Azulon and Lu Ten was standing in his way, I doubt he could get away with murdering both. Maybe he'd just try to make it look like he was guiding Lu Ten and giving him advice but in reality only manipulated Lu Ten to make decisions that would turn the people against him so that they'd demand Ozai take the throne instead. Idk what impact this new scenario would mean for Zuko, Ozai was not a great father so the possibility of Zuko getting his scar would still exist. Zuko would have to deal with his banishment a lot harder without Iroh and I'm not sure if he would be able to grow strong on his own with no support or love from anyone. Whether The White Lotus would support Lu Ten I have no idea. Idk when Iroh joined the society but I can imagine it would've been after Lu Ten's death and during Iroh's spiritual journey that made him the Iroh we know him as today.

Zuko's actually pretty short, and Ursa's a giant for a woman, so she should be taller than him. Apart from that, it capture their likenesses very well!
