This is a screencap from when he's talking to Bilbo, it's just been edited a loadddd.
If it was legit, the screen cap would have a white square around a part of it, and would have either a water mark or some dates and stuff, since the movie can't release screencaps before the film comes out ((and by that i mean the extended edition.))
So basically, it's fake. Sorry to burst la bubble but better you know instead of hoping that he's alive.
Plus in the book he dies, and I'm pretty sure they'd stick to it since he doesnt appear in LOTR, and it even says on the Wiki that he dies lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Smaug

In all honesty, I don't think he's alive because it is for a fact canon by word of J.R.R. Tolkien. I think this is something similar to his interview on The Colbert Report, but I need to look into it, find out exactly what the hell it is.
