Miles "Tails" Prower, as I began to draw him, I had flashback...*me playing Sonic 2 with my Genesis*
Me: "Mom! who is that yellow girl following Sonic?" (tiny voice me)
Mom:"I don't know honey. His girlfriend?"
Me: "really?"
*Fast forward, me playing Sonic Adventure on my Dreamcast*
Me:"Mom! remember the yellow girl who's following Sonic!" (heavy metal voice me)
Mom: (long distance voice) "no..."
Me: "really?"
*present time*
I still cant believe till today that Tails is a dude...
and my mom is a fan of Sonic

I stopped paying attention to Sonic after my Genesis stopped working and only recently rediscovered it, at which point Tails' gender was no longer a point of confusion.
That said, I did wonder why so many people thought he was a girl and I think I have an answer.

then I wasn't wrong about what I see when I played Sonic 2 on Genesis 
but according to [link]
the designer change 2 things on tails, his name and his color...
but still I laugh when Tails name is a pun for "Miles Per-hour" and added tails for his nickname...

I had the same problem, but with Knuckles instead.
In my case Sonic Heroes corrected my mistake, though.

in genesis time nobody know who is who anyways...
I named the badnik "domestic bug", I wanted tails looked as the same as I played it on the Genesis time too.
