While many of your other works are well composed, I think this one is not. The bottom subjects cut too close to the baseline and the symmetry of the open space makes it pedestrian. Also the lighting is to even especially on the background but still leaves some of the shadows nearly black and the dodging and burning is not done very well. Just my opinion.

This is beautiful! I agree with the Daily Deviation that your photos are well-composed and gorgeously presented.

I have always loved your presentation, and like it or not, the presentation should reflect "lunch" to their truest form when possible! Can you help me to understand why the eggs in the photo? Perhaps replace the egg with some tomatoes would have been better?

just my opinion, not try to discourage your stunning work

It's actually because eggs are commonplace in the local cuisine & happened to work better with the color tones in the picture.

Thank you for your input, however local cuisine or not, still it needs to make sense, no? I mean one does not eat a raw egg with a sandwich, unless that you do that i am not accustomed to?Let's make believe for a second that it is customary, i feel a vessel should be included in on with the display.

i hope my opinion has not offended anyone, not my intention

These are boiled eggs, and they are very typical as a part of Eastern European village lunch. That is what traditionally peasants were taking with them to the field where they worked, together with bread, salted pork meat, some vegetables and a jug of milk(usually). Cornflowers are the symbols of Belarusian ethnicity in this particular case.
And the Western notion of lunch has nothing to do with the subject.

Thank you for your comment!
I am Russian, and so we adopted to have dinner in the field at harvest.
Hard boiled eggs, bacon, onions and cucumbers, and all washed down with kvass.
If you are are principally against threads to which I characterized this still life, take him to the cut flowersΒ

Well...a huge thank-you again to SavagaFrog, she pointed it out to me that these could very well be hard boiled eggs whereas I had one thought and one thought only, that these were raw eggs (I know stupid me right!)Β

All your photos are beautifully presented, I enjoy looking at your photos
