foreshortening is where if something is pointed at you, it appears shorter and bigger.
a good example of it from my gallery is Fem!Otoro's arms in [link] (Otoro is the one with green hair)... notice how her forearms are pretty much nonexistant? that's because they're pointing pretty much directly at the "camera"

Claire looked to the younger and more working and diligent man. She stared at him
peculiarly before giving a light response to his humble question. " Claire Clearview,
and yourself young gentlemen?" Claire let the words roll off her tongue softly. She
pondered his descent and backgrounds, only to configure he was a hard working and possibly
earnest man. She continued to ponder at his stature, and looked to his hand where he placed a light
feeble kiss onto the tips of hers. A gesture of loyalty, and care. Perhaps even romance.
She placed her open hand on her cheek and smiled in a gentle manner and only gazed
upon the respect being given. She also took note of the condition of his hands, which were
well cared for. Meaning he could be someone who often worked with his hands, taking care of them
so that they have the same proper use.

Raising from his position on the floor, Shesta kept his eyes fixed on her face, almost as if trying to discern the meaning behnd her fleeting expressions. The question that left her lips immediately put a gentle smile on his own. "Forgive me for my lack of courtesy, my name is Shesta Asarel Reinwinds", he closed his eyes, his expression one of amusement. This woman, he was sure, didn't belong to this dark place; her seemingly delicate figure and her innocent gestures gave it away... did she belong to a noble house? "If I may be bold, what is a young lady as yourself doing in a place such as this?" He paused, only to turn around and point to the window at his side. His lips were curled up in an honest smile, though it also held an ounce of smugness to it. "Perhaps looking for something... or someone?"
