Wish I could wipe the slateand start it all again.
Then, maybe all that happened
would instead have never been.
Wish I could call you up
and hear your voice once more.
Wish I still had your number,
just the way I did before.
Wish I’d learned right from wrong
much sooner than I did.
Wish you hadn’t thought of me
like some cowardly kid.
Wish you could see me now,
still reeling from the pain.
Wish I hadn’t lost you, though
you don’t feel the same.

I have written poems like this and always hoped people I've lost (ones who have left me behind) would feel the way you've written it here. It gives me hope, actually, that I'm not the only one who might be thinking about friendships lost, that maybe one of them out there is still thinking of me, too, just because your poem exists to tell me such a thing is possible.
