Description
Having a strong fascination with anything cryptozoological and the desire to further explore 3D animation I'v decided to create a Sasquatch, Yawie type creature that will explore walk and run cycles was well as expressive facial animation.This concept was loosely inspired by common eye witness reports, as well as the audio descriptions found at yowiehunters.com

Powerful piece...Sasquatch was always my favorite crypto and was searching and making my own investigation, via books, mags and of course the net. When I was 14 I wrote a letter to an old monster Hunter, more out of curiosity I think. He answered me and invited me to follow his tracks and maybe replace him at some time. I was a kid, but was so excited...heheI still keep the letter, wrote by hand. That was intense.

Sasquatch actually have hooded noses like humans, but otherwise this is a pretty good representation.

To be honest I have heard conflicting accounts some say it has hooded noses like you say, and looks very human like, while other accounts describe it as more gorilla looking but with a slight human quality to it. So I went with a more gorilla esk look.

Been ages since I checked my DA thanks for all the comments guys! I'm currently undergoing a master degree in concept Art and Animation where I will be producing a Dark Fantasy Graphic Novel and I am thinking of including an encounter with these guys.

I, too, have a strong fascination with the weird and wonderful world of cryptozoology. Unfortunately, my artistic skills are less than zero. However, I have just recently completed a crypto-themed manuscript called that features Sasquatch, Mothmen, Chupacabras, and the Jersey Devil. Lots of monster goodness!

You found that balance between human-like and ape-like. Always heard stories of Bigfoot being strangely human-looking.

Yea plus there curious but shy nature seems to be a running theme as well.
I recently caught that finding bigfoot although it kinda had a scoobydoo meets most haunted feel to it as Mat Moneymaker was just plain annoying attributing everything they saw or heard to a bigfoot XD but the stories from the townspeople they gathered were really interesting.

Great picture here. From what I've heard, you're picture is very accurate. I've heard that these things are anywhere from 7 to 10 feet high or so, and that the males are heavily built and extremely muscular, and that even though they are covered in fur, you can see their muscles ripple underneath the fur.

Thanks! I'v heard that as well plus the different lengths and even styles of hair from one sighting to another. I definitely want to do a full conceptual shot of a Sasquatch but unfortunately it will be a while now before I can do anything in 3D with this guy.

Yea that tends to get reported alot looking very gorilla like in its facial features, dark brown or black hair, standing upright but heavily muscled
It would probably be more distinct if I had drawn the rest of the body.

Yea i know what you mean I might experiment with the shape of the nose and the lips to get it more human looking but with gorilla type skin.
