This is my first real experience with Photoshop (until now I'd been using GIMP) and I have to say that Photoshop makes coloring things in really, really amazing. I can actually use my pencil lines instead of having to draw over them so making a really kickass digital piece out of a scan is actually possible. Seriously. I really need to buy this program because I think I'll cry if my free trial runs out. Just look at how his arm and ribs turned out. I was floored by the texture because with GIMP I'd have to erase that kind of thing and try to redo it and it would never be half as cool.

Now that I've plugged Photoshop, I'll explain the reason behind this drawing -- I've been thinking about doing a Mindcrack UHC comic as a long-term project. It would be kind of a realistic take on UHC (I'd try to keep it as non-gory as possible, but it IS about killing people after all). I think I'd go with teams of 2 but I haven't nailed down who would be paired with who, except that I'd definitely make Vechs Zisteau's partner (I've been dying to see Vechs in UHC since before he agreed to join Mindcrack and I think they could be an interesting team). I had partially given up on the idea because of the amount of time it took to make passable drawings in GIMP, but then I drew this to test Photoshop out and I think it's back on the table in a big way. Why Zisteau first, you may ask? Because he's one of the more complicated fellows to draw and since I was in a class about drawing people, I couldn't get properly off topic without drawing a non-human.
