Description
I found an old picture (according to my computer it's over two years old) and decided to finish it. It's John from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. I watched the anime ages ago. I wanted to draw one of the characters just once. It also was surprisingly hard to find good reference pictures for John. It seems to me like the author can't decide what markings John has ΰ² _ΰ²I'd love to get feedback and suggestions on how to improve my drawings

I can't stop staring at this. Seriously. I freaking love his anatomy and his fierce-looking expression. You look like you captured the brave, heroic but cocky and reckless spirit of John perfectly, covered in blood while looking ready to defend his friends and kick some ass.

I really wanted to draw him - he's still one of the best characters from the series. I still get sad (and a bit angry) when I think about his death :/

Actually the manga and GDW have the right markings for John but GNG anime decided him to have more realistic German Shepard looking markings.
But seem like you got them right anyway! Good job!

I still don't understand why so many of the fur colours were changed for the anime, though.

Yeah but maybe it was back then easier to animate or something. Since if I recall right they GNG was made by hands purely. GDW was made by computer..
AddingΒ such details to hand drawn stuff would take a lot of time.
