Stitch frowned, "growing old, naga botifa!"
"But then again," Lilo suddenly got a somber look on her face, "I remember once, I told dad that I wanted to live forever, and he said I shouldn't. I asked him why, and he said the only thing worse than dying is living forever, because you'll outlive everyone you know, and then you'll miss them for all eternity."

Wow, this is such a moving piece. It's so sweet, and yet so sad at the same time. And it does bring up the topic of Stitch's lifespan. I remember Jumba mentioning in an episode of the TV series that Stitch was designed to be almost completely indestructible, and I'll admit there's been times when I've wondered whether or not he's immortal. And the quote from the fanfic really brings the message home.

Well he does age, but it takes longer than a human. There's an episode from the series when they skip through time, Lilo grows older but Stitch remains the same.
But in this fanfic, Stitch believes he will live for thousands of years and tries to forget his ohana in order for him not to suffer in the future when they pass away. Turns out that Jumba created his experiments to die the same time he does, in order for enemies not to steal his experiments. So that's when Stitch knows he will be able to grow old with Lilo, and begs for her forgiveness for trying to push them away.
This drawing is more of Stitch's thoughts when he believed he was going to live forever.
