Beautiful message of love and friendship, and both movies have it. But I call foul on the comparison. Stitch was going haywire and had no control. Toothless was being controlled - essentially hypnotized - but could fight it.

Haha such a good point! I guess anyone who loves these movies should have seen the resemblance. But, the difference is that Stitch was self- destructing (pretty much) and Toothless was being controlled.

True, but the way I saw it was that both were controlled by something that made them hurt the one's they loved without wanting to. Stitch was self destructing, but the glitch took over his mind temporarily to revert him back to 626 while Toothless was controlled by another dragon but was also temporarily hypnotized too. Also Both Lilo and Hiccup strong bond for them had brought them back to normal in the end.
