Description
"Why do you fight me? We're one in the same. You should be ruling along side me! Not this."
"What makes you think Stitch want to do that?"
"Why wouldn't you?"
"Are you happy?"
"What?" Emperor 626 was bewildered by Stitch's question.
"What do you mean, am I happy?" Emperor 626 yelled at Stitch. "I'm the unquestionable emperor and god of the pacific islands! These people worship me!"
"But… are you happy?" Stitch asked again.
"Are you happy?" Emperor 626 reversed the table on Stitch. "Are you happy living in a pathetic stilted house, being forced to pretend you're a dog, with people who can barely make ends meet, much less provide you with all the luxuries you could ever want?"
"Ih." Was Stitch's quick and instant response.
"Why?"
"Because Stitch have family. They love me, and I love them. It is good. Yeah, it's good, but it is too late, for you to understand."
Emperor 626 growled under his breath. "It sickens me to think that if things turned out differently, I might have become you."
"Ditto."
Chapter 21
...
This was inspired by another wonderful story by WatsonSword called Empire of the Pacific
OH MA GOSH THIS STORY IS SOOO FREAKING AWESOME!!! NO LIE, IT IS SO ACCURATE THAT I'VE READ IT LIKE 8 TIMES!!!
WatsonSword if you're reading this, I want you to know that I praise you so much for your perfect story. Never have I read anything like it, and I love it so much that I had to do this for you!
Ahem.....
I’m pretty sure that half of you won’t even bother to read it, so i’ll summarize it for you guys.
Lilo’s life seems to be perfect. She has saved the cousins, has an Ohana, a home, and a best friend who is always there for her. But even though she is happy with her life, she still is having a hard time accepting the death of her parents.
What if Lilo and Stitch go back in time and save Lilo’s parents, only to realize that with that little change their current time has been affected, and is now in the hands of a very powerful emperor, named 626.
With Lilo’s parents alive, Lilo and Stitch never met. Without her in his life, Stitch was never taught to be good, and this is where we see the darker side of 626.
---
If Disney ever decide to take a risk to make a rated R movie, and wanted to show Stitch's real dark side, this story would be perfect. It really shows how important Lilo's existence is to Stitch's life. Without her, Stitch would have never been turned good. We seemed to have been focusing too much on Stitch's cuteness, and forgotten that Stitch was originally created to be evil and destroy anything he touches. Well, this story sure does prove how scary Stitch would have been if things had turned out differently. This really makes you understand the movie better, you realize the consequences and gruesome monster Stitch really could have been.
Enjoy!

For a cover for a fanfictional story, there's lots of depth shown here. The picture speaks for itself. We have a dirty and beaten up Stitch holding a dirty and beaten up Lilo who's dressed like a homeless person. Both look tired and weak. By looking at their eyes, you can sense emptiness and exhaustion. If you squint, you see that Lilo is scared while Stitch looks like he lost hope. Above that, there are two Stitches. The one on the left is Stitch as we know him while on the right is Stitch as he appeared at the begining of the Lilo and Stitch movie. While they appear alike, they are both two completely different people. The left side shows the mischievous, destructive, rambuctious but also the lovable,kind-hearted Stitch we all know and love. The right side shows Emperor 626 or a "what could've been". This is what Stitch would've turned out like if Lilo hadn't adopted him and showed him the meaning of "ohana". Stitch show anger and disgust at his evil counterpart but also disbelief that this is he would've been like if he hadn't met Lilo. Emperor 626 appears to be digusted by "soft-hearted" version of himself and judging from his facial expressions, you can tell he's cold, heartless and bad to the bone. I really like the image of the Pelekai's house burning in the background. Another "what could've been". It really shows a dark and haunting story of what could have happened if things had gone differently. Overall, the cover represents a promisng story for the readers and while I haven't read the story yet, I very much intend to as soon as I can. Other than that, I find the quality and symbolism of the cover outstanding.

I read the story after coming across this picture and I couldn't stop reading it! It was so good! I love darker twists to Disney stories so this fanfiction was just a perfect twist to the Lilo and Stitch franchise. Would love if a comic or, heck, even a animated film was made on this story because it was that awesome! Your picture also captures the feel of the story so well and I want to thank you since I found an awesome fanfiction because of it! I love the rest of your Lilo and Stitch gallery, you present their friendship in a realistic way that stays true to the original film even when Lilo is older. Great job!

But... wouldn't Lilo have still adopted Stitch? She wasn't somewhere alone in the forest in morning over her parents when Stitch crashed, (so she'd be curious and discover him) she went to the pound and adopted what she believed to be dog.
If anything, I would think training him would have been easier with the parents alive - With Lilo and Nani's parents having jobs and Nani playing babysitter, Lilo could have trained Stitch under more controlled conditions. the beaches of Hawaii wouldn't have been put in chaos, Nani wouldn't have been around angry people while looking for a job (not that she'd even be looking for one in this reality.), and Stitch would have witnessed a happier family.

SciFiLover2 In reply to Omnifighter1 [2020-04-03 22:04:54 +0000 UTC]
The whole reason Nani took Lilo to the pound that day to adopt a dog was because of how emotionally-strained their ohana was after their parents' death (Lilo's prayer after they saw Stitch's ship crash), and with the poor first impression the sisters had on Cobra when he came to check if Nani was a suitable guardian. Lilo's parents' deaths were definitely a critical catalyst in the events that led to her adopting Stitch, as even if she'd stopped by the dog pound at a later date in a world where her parents didn't die; Experiment 626 wouldn't have been in that dog pound more than a day beyond his arrival before escaping (two days at the most if he wanted to hunker there to avoid Jumba's plasma shots outside).
I also have to disagree with you on how Lilo's parents being around would've made events for the ohana work out more smoothly. Lilo and Nani's hardship and the social services threat was what made their ohana so precious and brought that to the surface, and made Stitch see how important it was; how in the face of all their adversities and their near-hopelessness it was this thing that Lilo and Nani held onto and cherished. If Lilo's parents had still been around, the importance of family wouldn't have been emotionally drilled into Stitch.

I see your point.
And, come to think of it, Nani was taking a financial risk in adopting Stitch. Granted, $2 isn't much, but that's just the license fee! Animals require a lot of care and attention. Toys, food, cleaning products for "spots", furniture (for pets and humans), monthly medications - pets are expensive! Nani knew all this (they had a dog door so they had a dog at some point in the past), but she was willing to strain their budget that much more for her sister's sake. And when she got fired, she didn't return him, because she knew what he meant to Lilo.
Also, Stitch was effectively a present! Lilo asked God for a friend, not Nani for a pet, so Nani took her to the shelter to get a dog.
Also, I love how she started her prayer, "It's me, again." There's so much sorrow in those words, you're dead inside if you're an adult and can't feel it.
On a side note - despite Jumba, Pleakley, and Gantu, I think the real villain is Cobra Bubbles. Yes, he's a social worker. And his initial scene up to when he left that first time. (By the way, when he popped the nails out of that door frame with a simple flick of his arm - that was both cool and intimidating!) But later, when he meets Stitch, he instructs Lilo to make Stitch a "model citizen". What? No. He's, supposedly a dog, the words you're looking for are either "properly housebroken" or "properly trained". That would be hard enough given their time frame. But a "model citizen"? Did cobra know what Stitch actually was? And if so, did he secretly want the family to fail?
And when the house exploded and he screamed, "Is this what she needs?!?! It seems clear to me that you need her a lot more than she needs you." Hey, moron! It should be bleeping obvious that Nani and Lilo A) had nothing to do with this. And B) nobody's house is designed to handle gunfire! Let alone a Plasmagun blowing up! Granted a small hole was made by Jumba throwing dished through the roof (Strong plates or weak wood?), but that's beside the point.

In my opinion, although Lilo is incredibly important to Stitch, Stitch has a will of her own not to be evil. Yes Stitch was created to be bad/evil but Stitch (although harder without Lilo's love and care) has her own mind and doesn't actually want to be bad/evil, which she realises over the course of the film. Without Lilo, Stitch would have still come to this realisation at some point, though maybe much later on. Also this is assuming that there is only one earth girl with a deep connection to Stitch.

And now all of the sudden I realize why about a year ago I suddenly got a surge of reviews for a nine year old story!
Seriously... nine years! Nine years and this story's still getting attention?! I was barely 21 when I finished it! Today it actually embarrasses me. Not the story itself, but the language. I re-read a random chapter today and all I can see is a lack of sensory detail and a sea of typos. I keep telling myself one day I'll go back and finish the stories I started, and the years keep going by while I don't.
I actually found this pic only about an hour ago when I did an ixquick search of watsonsword out of boredom! This is definitely a fav. And too bad there's no rating system here because I'd have given it the max.

I haven't really read the story in full yet (I likely will one day in the future when the parts I have read have faded from my memory somewhat), but regarding how Lilo, Stitch and the Emperor didn't meet earlier versions of Lilo and Stitch when they returned to the car accident; I think you're forgetting that in the actual show, the time board has a paradox inhibitor to prevent temporal duplicates. Lilo and Stitch probably had the inhibitor off when they prevented the accident because past-Lilo was in the car, but it was turned back on when they and the Emperor went back to the car crash again. (I guess the past-Lilo in the car was still there in this case because the paradox inhibitor hadn't been on the first time, or because the inhibitor can only prevent one temporal duplicate at a time and not two, though I guess that doesn't account for what happened to the second Lilo and Stitch in the 'Melty' episode that one time they left the inhibitor off.)
The way I see it, with [BIG SPOILER]
-
-
-Lilo becoming the silhouette ON THE CLIFF,
-
-
-
[SPOILER ENDS]
the alternate timelines in this story are a mix of multiple realities and ontological loop. Basically, I believe that there's only two timelines (no Timeline 3); the original timeline and the Pacific Empire timeline, and the spacetime continuum is in a stable state of flux between the two. I think the two timelines are like the chicken and the egg, or somewhat like Ouroboros. To elaborate: Timeline 1 leads to Lilo and Stitch time-travelling and creating Timeline 2, and events in that timeline lead to them going back and re-creating Timeline 1 along with the events that led to Timeline 2's birth and then Timeline 1's restoration; ad infinitum..

WOW WHAT AN HONOR!!!
I am a BIG fan of your stories, and seriously I feel like yours portray the perfect personalities of the characters compared to other stories i've read. Nowadays L&S fanfic's have gone downhill and all they focus on is romance between them (ewww).
I totally get you, I feel the same way whenever I look back at some of my works I have here. As an artist, feel ashamed of how bad my old work looks and feel embarrassed that I had posted this, while others still continue to compliment it. Me, as the reader, I find no flaw in your story. I love it so much, and you still remain my #1 fav author of L&S. So please, don't ever delete your stories or account, I still love going back to read it.
By the way, this wasn't the only work I've done based on your stories. There is another one named Living forever, that to my great surprise has gone viral!
It's based on your story called The Only Thing Worst Than Dying
Hope you like it!

I'll probably end up deleting Digimon Rising eventually. The actual reason was that I originally wanted to post the fanseason in screenplay format, but fanfiction.net doesn't allow that. Even though I have actual screenplay software to keep the format perfect, and have taken screenwriting classes! But doing it all in prose... that's just too much. It's too ambitious and demands too much material, so there's no way in hell I'm ever going to continue it.
I may one day start working on Hazard again, but I planned on that being the first part of a trilogy of stories all featuring the character Wiomi:'Hazard' has her as the protagonist, 'Fancy Rat' would have her as a mentor character, and 'The War of Ghosts' as... well... a ghost. But doing all three? That too would just be too ambitious.
But the profile itself I'll leave up until fanfiction.net ceases to be!

If you like really good fanfictions, then may I recommend an incredible piece of work called "Simon's Experiments." It is a Lilo & Stitch fanfiction about Stitch's youngest son Simon, who, despite having not inherited Stitch's incredible strength, indestructibleness, or acute senses, has the most brilliant mind the galaxy has ever seen. The story starts off a little slow, but the character development that follows more than makes up for the minor lull in the beginning. It does have quite a bit of violence, and very mature themes. Also, Lilo doesn't feature too heavily in the story, as Simon is the main focus. But all in all, it is honestly one of the best stories I have ever read.

Thank you so much for recommending me this story, just finished reading it a few minutes ago!
Okey-dokey, I'm going to be very honest with my opinions of the story.
The story is pretty good, I like that they really deepened the character as the story progresses. I really felt bad that he tried his best to fit in to the family, but gave up whenever he felt neglected. The drama with his family was pretty deep, and heartbreaking.
But, while reading this, sometimes I would forget that this is related to the Lilo and Stitch movie, I feel like it would have been greater to hear other characters POV, instead of just Simon. Idk, maybe it's just me, but when I read Lilo and Stitch, I want to know more of our main heroes, Lilo and Stitch and how their relationship has progressed during the years, especially now that Stitch had a family of his own.
Mainly, when it comes to fanfics, I'm usually searching for stories that focus on Lilo, or at least that she has an acceptable role in it, because whenever I search, it's always about Stitch, Angel, or their kids and never Lilo, and when she does have a role, she is either ooc or she has some weird romance with stitch (no offense, but eww!). I felt in this story that Lilo was just there, but nothing more. It kinda bothered me that Stitch didn't really show much concern when she was critically injured, when usually he would go insane for her safety. He cried over Angel, Presley dying, Simon and Elvis getting hurt, but when it was Lilo he didn't care much for his friend/sister when she was hurt. I just felt emptiness between the two. I guess since she's my main favorite character from the movie, I become very peeky when it comes to stories that neglect her.
I really wish to see more interaction between Simon and Lilo, I feel she would have been understanding, especially since she went through somewhat the same thing.
other than that, it was an interesting reading, it's one of the best I've read of Stitch's child. Oh and man I really felt like chocking that stupid brother of his. He doesn't deserve to have the name of Elvis!!!

That was exactly the way I felt. The characters that were featured were very well developed. Like, seriously, some of the best character development I have ever seen. Unfortunately, Lilo was, in your words, "just there." I totally agree with this perspective, and feel that she should have had a much more prominent role in the story. There is a sequel, called "Simon's Experiments II." It is significantly longer than the first story, and it features new characters. However, it is incomplete, and it suffers from the same lack-of-Lilo-ness. I also recommend this story, simply because it further develops the characters, and even goes into other character POVs! But, like I said, it is incomplete, so unfortunately a resolution to the final situation is not going to happen. I have dabbled in the possibility of writing the conclusion myself, but I don't want to tick off the author if he ever does come back. :/
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the story!
