Okay, so I've only seen one episode of the Lilo and Stitch series (that Kim Possible crossover, and I don't even remember much of that) but I've seen the movie and the sequel and the idea of Lilo abandoning Stitch for a boy is just. . .

*shrug* we'd all be lying if we say that we didn't behaved that way at some point when we were children, and that's actually what made her more popular since many people saw themselves in her.
Besides, if you see at least three episodes of the anime, you'll notice Yuna behaves a lot worse. If she doesn't get what she wants she screams and gives the silent treatment till someone does what she requested. Everything has to be her way apparently.

Hmm. good point. Maybe it's because the Japanese aren't exactly familiar with Hawaiian culture. Maybe they though a Japanese girl would be more relatable to the audience.
And Lilo was only being a brat because she was handling greif. No kid should be well behaved after both their parents die.

Yeah I've met many children in my time who went through the same thing Lilo did. I guess we all have our view of things, but I feel it's better to leave originals alone and love it the way it is. If the creators of this anime made their show on it's own and left the disney characters out, it could have been decent, but sadly that isn't the case. What a waste of opportunity.
