What did you base Umbra off, the idea behind your OC is quite creative and have you done an overview on how you draw. I am trying to evolve my drawing style + perspective as much as I can and some ideas would be much appreciated.
Loved your work for a good while, this version of Umbra is definitely on the top 3, I have a soft spot for mature cute women with short hair hense why I like this one particularly.

1. I based umbra off of the concept of darkness and the idea that while it may be scary, we also seek comfort in the dark since most people can't sleep in light. Trying to give her both a scary and comforting feel.
2. Everyone draw differently but if i would try practicing the fundamentals, like perspective, foreshortening and anatomy. When we draw in styles were are "drawing the wrong way on purpose." Basically in order to do fantasy you need to know reality so you can bend it in the right ways.Β
3. I haven't really done a major overview of how i draw since to be honest i don't think it's anything special lol. But to leave you with something you can use immediately, remember to draw using basic shapes and construction lines.

Cool thxΒ
I draw a 2 dimentional skeleton with its joints marked to imagine the pose and draw a circle to get the perspective of the head. Then I use the size of the head to determine the proportions of the entire body. Is that what you mean by drawing in styles because I have recently ditched that said techniqe for using basic shapes which can hold the proportions of a character on all sides instead.
Β Am I going in the right directions?

well it'a hard for me to say without seeing it but it sounds like you're in the right direction. But "style" is just the different ways people draw, though just about everyone uses similar steps to get to there.
