Roll the Bobcat is one of the protagonists in Sonic Boom. She is a Lynx Rufus and serves as her team's cook and the only tomboy.

Concept and Creation
For the tone of Sonic Boom, Big Red Button Entertainment aimed for Roll is that compassionate, determined, and courageous. As such, her design was made more "strong and graceful".
Appearance
Roll is the same height as Sonic. She is also the most attractive of the group. Compared to her appearances in other media, Roll is wearing a yellow-green denim vest with a Black tank-top underneath, a black, white, yellow-green skort with knee-high heel boots, sports tape on her legs, wrists, and her gloves, and boots. She has long hair with a bang and a yellow-green headband.
Personality
Roll is reliable, high-spirited, independent, strong, and confident. She can be very brave and resourceful when she wants to be and is very good at cooking. Roll is very kind-hearted and caring but, she is not the type of girl to mess with and she will be violent. Joy, sadness, welled-up rage... Roll's emotions are always rich. Roll's fighting spirit is very strong, and once a fire is lit under her it is not easily doused even if, for example, she is seriously injured, she will continue to advance on her enemy until she defeats it. She also loves food and sweets with tea her physical constitution is such that she does not gain weight no matter how much she eats. Despite her tomboyish attitude, Roll has a very good heart and never gives up without a fight and she is not afraid to stand up for herself. Roll really loves Taiyaki and has a crush on Knuckles the Echidna.
Powers and Abilities
Roll’s strength has tremendously grown due to training by building up and releasing her energy with precise timing, she can easily demolish or destroy objects with powerful punches and/or kicks. Roll’s most notable ability is her great prowess in martial arts; she has considerable raw strength for her frame, as seen from prying open powerless doors. Her deceptive strength and skill have been seen repeatedly; both from her ability to effortlessly smash stone and other very sturdy objects and with noticeable dexterity and agility also take out various assailants, most with a single hit. Roll has also developed similar flexibility and accuracy in her kicks. She is also shown to be remarkably fast, able to quickly react to and knock away falling pipes and likewise dodge a bullet up-close while on guard. Her strikes have also shown similar speed, able to swat down a bee with a single kick. Roll is able to launch bolts of energy that are able to rapidly expand on contact with an object or when it reaches the chosen place.

Relationships

Knuckles the Echidna: Roll has a crush on Knuckles and sometimes their closeness has developed cute moments for each other. Knuckles also has feelings for Roll and hates to see her hurt either emotionally or physically and he is very protective of her. Knuckles and Roll also appear to share a close empathic link due to their strong feelings for each other, making them almost impossibly aware of when the other is in extreme danger, and often able to sense the others worried thoughts.
