I know that the Call of Duty series has its own different continuities, but this is my own play order of the games and my own personal timeline.

I like to play COD2 and World at War at the same time, alternating missions and games. I feel like both of these games cover most of the Second World War.

Black Ops comes next, covering both the Cold War and the Vietnam war.

Then comes the Modern Warfare series. Sometimes I play the remastered COD4 in place of the original and then move on to the next two.

Lastly comes Ghosts. I'm hoping sometime in the future, they will release a sequel since it ended on a cliffhanger.

WW2 and Modern Warfare are off in a category of their own.
