I remember playing this game back when my siblings own another Sega Genesis model 2 that comes with that game after our old model 2 broke that comes with Sonic Spinball. I beated insane mode as I ended up with 30 lives without save state on the console and 40 lives using save state on a computer when I beated the game (I memorize the game from my late childhood knowing where the 10x multiplier, extra lives, max health, ect.) but sadly it didn't show the contest win screen. Good times.

I've really yet to fully try and beat the game, I could only get as far as level 3 and just stop.

Well the game is easy for skilled player by memorizing where the max health is hidden in secret rooms (beated insane mode as I end up having 30 lives on a console and 40 lives using save state). I just went to GameFAQs and the difficulty section regarded by other players was "Medium" whether I believe if it's a hard game or just a balance game is beyond me.

I think for me is that I'm not sure if I can beat it in one sitting, would've felt better if it has a password or save system at least...oh wells, I'll attempt a serious run at some point

I've only got the first game as a cartridge wile I have both games unlocked on Sonic Gems Collection, which I've yet to find time and play.
