The smell must be intriguing. I know I enjoy a good wood-burning. I've drilled through bone to make jewellery and totems before, and the smell is... distinct.

But I'm ahead of myself. This is delightful work, my friend. I hope that you are proud, as this is most excellent.

You know what.. it smells very unpleasant! I need to have fragrant sticks on my desk to be able to tolerate it hahahΒ
I've been itching to make some jewellery out of bone! Might come to you for some tips later

Thanks so much! I'm surprised I got such a nice result for my first time round Really appreciate your kind words

I hear you. I'm a sucker for fragrance. Have been ever since a skunk got lost under my house and died over winter. Bad winter. Nag Champa is good incense, as is Frankincense. I'm also a huge fan of floral scented incense sticks. They're swell.

It was unpleasant. But it did introduce me to incense, the burning of which comprises one of my favourite meditative exercises, so it wasn't all bad...

I thought it would be ... Totally! I take it that it doesn't really emboss the same as wood when you're burning dark..? More like burning on top of the bone?

The heat has to be cranked right up. With my burner turned up to full heat it still takes a lot of runs over the same spot to get the black and its still only burning the very surface!... Very different to wood!
