It seems that Retsubnad's latest plan to conquer the world was soundly thwarted once again. But not only that, Danbuster and his friends gave him a good talking to as well.
After all, they reasoned, if he forcibly takes over the world, how does he expect people to truly give him the love and respect he hopes for? Wouldn't he just be considered a hated tyrant?
This hit home for the wizard-hare, whose only goal out of life was to be appreciated.. and this leads to him having to do some serious soul-searching to find out what he really needs to do to be successful.
Through thick and thin, Wally Babbleton remains at his Master's side. At least there's a least one person in Retsy's life who truly loves and respects him... apart from his loyal friend and pet Thoronraw the Gryphon, of course.

Hehe, all things considered Retsy is supposed to be a megalomaniac wizard bent on conquering the world... but it's true, he's more like an antihero/antivillain for some of his more well-intentioned motives...
As for Wally, he's simply a loyal and devoted manservant who will do ANYTHING possible to please his Master...
Certainly, Thoronraw Gryphon would testify to Retsy's better nature, despite his villainous flaws.

Seems Master Retsy here feels a bit downcasted for now as the latest attempt to take over the world has been foiled by his dear brother here. I could imagine him pondering: "Hmmm... what can I do next? I already used the finger of scorn to no avail..."

Thoronraw: Master, we do have spare guest-rooms in your castle that we don't use. I know I used to occupy one when you first brought me here to recover from that freak-show... before you furnished the room in the tower below the PalantΓr chamber.
(As far as the single high tower goes, it houses four levels: Wally's room, Thoronraw's room, the room for his Seeing Stone and his own private chamber - I'm still a bit hazy on how to lay out the rest of the castle, beyond it having three levels before access to the tower itself)

Wally: And I don't mind serving extra guests...

Β On a side-note, Retsubnad's body proportions call my attention, like how the head looks and it does remind me of every time I see one of those giant rabbits. So that is good I think

Yeah, RPs really helped develop my cast.
Retsy for example, he became a much more complex character, going from a pure "evil twin" to a tragic antihero.
I guess time will tell how I can manage my free time and personal projects around working hours. From early morning till dinnertime will be heading out, work and driving back again. And I won't be able to stay up late either, except at weekends...

Thoronraw: I would normally be at Master Retsy's side myself, if I hadn't have been elsewhere at the time. I'm a free spirit after all, even though my place is at his side. I should have probably curled up at his feet and thrust my head in his lap to pet me (since petting an animal is said to relax a fellow) - but in this situation, it looks like Wally might beat me to it...

Oh I believe that, Thoronraw, that petting an animal is relaxing. I take great joy in petting not only my cat, but also the numerous dogs I get the pleasure of walking by when I'm at work (a lot of times I'm cleaning the common areas in condos, and people with their adorable dogs walk by; it doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes I get a chance to pet the dog; usually the dog loves the attention, and the owners appreciate my action).
Heh heh, but I'll bet it'd be super awesome to have a nice big gryphon to pet.

Heh, yup! Not sure how it works, but animals can be a comfort... like last night, since Tyndale had curled himself up on my bed, all I could do was curl up with him, with a hand in his fur... felt nice though...
Sure would be great to have a domesticated gryphon... I'm not sure what they eat, but at least Thoronraw doesn't require expensive petrol to run, nor do traffic jams or stoplights slow him down if Retsy requires transport!

I gotta say the character dynamic and relatioship between the two is always enjoyable to see. Especially here during Retsys thoughtful and reflective moment. Wally clearly looks like he will follow Retst no matter which path his thoughts may lead him.

Heh yeah, they sure have a strong dynamic. Wally is always willing to serve his Master in any way he may, but of course he also knows that the hare has a lot of good in him. Retsubnad has always veered off from taking a truly dark path...
Like in an RP with my friend, where a seductive vampire-bat offered Retsy the assistance of the undead to take over the world. Inviting Retsy and Wally to their horror-themed parallel dimension, she and her brother-in-bite raised an army of zombies with their dark powers and all that Retsy would have to do was open the portal back to his own world to unleash a zombie apocalypse on Danbuster's world.
In the end, his better nature won out and Retsy turned down their offer, feeling that it was too far even for him. Though her brother was hugely disappointed, the she-vampire (who did sort of admire Retsy after all) respected his decision and they parted amicably.
I think this helped bring Retsy closer to Wally, as well as earning some added respect from Thoronraw (since gryphons hate undead creatures) as it proved Retsy had his own moral compass after all, cracked as it may be.

I like that, it gives him more layers. He isn't the typical evil villain that is completely evil.
That sort of situation goes to show he doesn't have the true desires most villains would have, also further showing there is goodness in his heart
That was a detail I also noticed whenever I thought about my character Damion and if he was a villain, he would have fitting abillities to be one but he has no interest in villains motives. XD.
I also love that little detail you have there about Thoronraw, giving Retsy another powerful ally there

Heh, yup... Retsy may have the drive and the talent for villainous plans, but he just doesn't have the truly dark nature... he just wants to be loved. Something Wally provides at home...
Danbuster also shows affection of the familial sort, once they put their differences aside.
Thoronraw too, yeah. He is probably Retsy's closest friend, since the hare rescued him from a life of mistreatment at a freak-show. Both have known suffering in their past, so they have that common ground from the very start.

(Of course, such a first-time reunion brought Retsy a huge surprise when he was not only welcomed with open arms but found himself referred to as Cornelius!)
