Description Something for

A scene of Alex hanging out with our otter characters, at a quiet seaside tavern... though it appears he can't hold his liquor like the other guys, much to the amusement of Hydrex and Cedric...
Cliff and Frederick are naturally concerned.

Cedric and Frederick Wilkinson, and Leroy Rudderbuck are my own characters.

Cliff Lutra and Alex Raccoon-Glider belong to AlexRaccoonGlider

I drew in the characters, but the ocean sunset background and dialogue suggestions were made by Alex.

Alex can be random at times, but then we have that in common...

I have a large raccoon in my back yard who is most disapproving of me, I don't leave out food and he will sit in a tree and glare.Β  These guys can cause much destruction but I am fond of them.Β  I really like that picture, it looks a most convivial gathering and the last otter's comment is a riot!Β  Wind in the Willows made an otter fan of me.

Sounds like a funny little guy...

We have hedgehogs roaming around our garden - or at least, we leave out food for them and they come and get it - but I don't know whether they live in the garden or near it. We certainly have a nice big compost heap where we dump grass or weeds, and my parents got a sort of wicker hedgehog-igloo for them to use...

Thanks very much! We sure worked hard on that pic between us.

Ah, good old Wind in the Willows!

Myself, I'm back on reading Brian Jacques' "Tales of Redwall" stories lately, usually during my work lunch-break.

Incidentally, that "last otter" on the right - that's Frederick. He's a ferret.

He's only Cedric's brother by adoption (not that this ever marred their familial closeness).

Ferret, otter, weasel, sabertooth, I am not your average go to guy about animals.Β  I like the drawing.Β  I liked Redwall and Martin the Warrior, but Redwall, for me, is made unreadable by the dibbuns.Β  Dear sweet lord, how cute do you have to get?Β  vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/re… This is the way Cluny looks to me.Β  I have the graphic novel.Β  And - Basil Stag-Hare is quite the character.Β  I love reading about the feasts, yummy!Β

British wildlife - just a personal interest of mine.

My idea of a grand day out is a visit to somewhere like Banham Zoo to the otters and the big cats!

Yup, I got all the books! I definitely enjoy the funny moments.

I love zoos, particularly petting zoos.Β  My uncle raised goats out in South Texas, I loved to visit and play with the babies.Β  I was saddened that he raised them for slaughter.

He turned out to be a bad person, dying alone and unloved.Β  Too bad, I sure would have liked that land.Β  Lots and lots of guns, his neighbors looted his house when he died.Β  The only thing I wanted was an ivory handled Bowie knife of 0 practicality, but when sides were taken I chose my father.Β  The whole thing was a shame.

Hmmm, that's a sad situation indeed...

Jesus' parable of the rich farmer springs to mind. When the farmer decided he would knock down his barns to build bigger ones, to store away all his wealth and live life to the fullest; eat, drink and be merry... he was rebuked by God, who warned him that he was about to die. Who then would get all his earthly wealth?

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?Β  Luke 12:20, one I think of all the time.Β  This is also radical wealth redistribution propaganda, wealth is not evil in and of itself and is something to aspire to, I sure would like to have it.Β  I have always marveled that people who kill or steal for money have no concept of eternity. The Romans were probably the most greedy people in history until the Conquistador's showed up, I feel sure that Jesus had them in mind.Β  Tax farming was a curse upon the subject peoples.Β

Since he is dead now and I don't like him there is no harm in saying what happened.Β  My uncle, a deacon in the Baptist Church, was accused of molesting his youngest girl.Β  No one heard about this until she was in her forties.Β  She is a psychiatrist in Austin.Β  To say the least I have doubts.Β  But he treated my aunt, his wife and my dad's sister, horribly, amounting to attempted murder by neglect.Β  Dad said he would never talk to him again, that is all it took for me.Β  My father was the kindliest of men and not given to dramatic talk unlike myself.Β  Up until then I liked my uncle a lot, and I felt terrible about the entire thing. He had many acres off in the hills in South Texas, a lovely place.Β  The entire family broke with him except for an insane with naked greed cousin who thought that he would get the land by sycophancy, and of course the extensive firearms collection.Β  My uncle left everything to the local Baptist church, fittingly enough.Β  The entire affair is a disgrace.Β  He is the one who should have been reflecting on Luke 12;20.

Indeed, though there's nothing wrong with money as a means of providing for yourself, the love of money a root of all kinds of evil. Greed is the problem.

I'm glad to have a full-time job these days, as I'm at least making myself useful and getting paid for it. My bank balance is a lot healthier. Still careful about money, though... being unemployed for so long left me cautious about having little.

Still, I'm grateful to be raised a Christian, as it means I can live in hope.

In that case I wish you the joy of your faith.Β  I think the love of money quote wrong, I would phrase this as the love of power is the root of all evil but that does not cover psychopathy.
