Description
Since those leashes came out, children are seen more like pets than sons or daughters... So after being lost at the mall for a couple of hours, well, this was to be expected XP... Max's aunt is awesome with her shopping XPBtw, it was a different day than the strips about the ice-cream XP

Another comment on an older strip, but I was wondering if their mom would feel embarrased about pulling Max around on a leash, or is she just that concerned about his safety? He must have already gotten lost a few times to mandate the use of a leash. I also noticed we haven't actually seen the leash used by mom in a store; last time he was put into the cart (which was one of my favorite arcs by the way.).

XD XD XD
OwO well, Mom thinks of it as safety... the intention wouldn't be much of using it per se... but Sam would use it =w=;
Mom knows Max is embarrassed aobut it, so he's extra careful about not getting lost, but all kids get separated from their parents at one point or another so she Β thinks practical over embarrassment. Β She doesn't make him wear each store trip, only if he's clearly distracted... if you take notice Sam makes max wear it more often, and usually with dog puns XD
Mom offered the cart as a way out, Sam just didn't tell Max what option b would be XD

I understand, I just really like the humor behind it. Max is clearly thoughtful and intelligent, so its just really funny seeing the leash through his perspective. Most children would simply ignore it or dislike it, but Max is at the age and intelligence to "know" he shouldn't wander off and get lost, but still has to deal with the indignation of being restricted like that. Also, it's very cute. I'd enjoy other strips where the leash is brought up for use by mom, but you focus on what you want do!
Also, thanks for being patient with my questions!

Have an older brother who would play "hide and go seek" with Mummy in the mall. After the one time where he lost track of her, and she lost track of him, and all of security was alerted and the mall was shut down, and after the he fought off security, and Mom found him again, thanks to some of the sales ladies, our mother kindly asked them if they sold child leashes. Never needed to use it, but she threatened him a couple of times...

uh huh. Not everyone likes them, and sees them as a form of abuse, but sometimes, a kid does have to learn not to stray too far away sometimes.

did you see the new 'scare the parents' movement?
A guy in a mall watches over parents who loose track of their children and gives lollipops to the kids with a note that says " all it takes is a moment to lure your child, Keep watch before its too late" for the kids to show their parents.

Nope. I try to avoid some of the sensationalist commercials. Although I am studying child development. Last class was the debate over rough and tumble play. Its something that definitely does require some sense.
ButΒ at the same time, we do need toΒ cut the umbilical cord at some point.Β But that movement does sound scary.Β

We do need to cut the umbilical cord but still that doesn't mean to go shopping and ignore the kids. The movement is about kids under 10 that are easily kidnapped due to parents ignoring them. It mentions that kidnappings never end well.
Safety is not the same as hindering grouth by suffocating the child with overprotective parents, and trust is not scolding the kid for doing something we told them not to do expecting they understand inmediately what we mean, when they've never had any trouble for it before.
OwO I hope to have a better way to express myself in the future.
OwO sorry if I'm annoying whith my half-baked idea that I was about to say...

Yeah. true. I didn't mean to go in that direction....
and yeah. I need a better way to express myself as well at times. Having foot in mouth syndrome is not always fun.
no problem. I come across as a little flakey as well at times.
Although the safety concern would be that at a future date, if a kidnapper tries to bribe a child with candy, the child may be a lot more likely to take the bait... hrm... Quite the debate....
