Love it. I totally want to write a little short story about her gathering the courage to approach her mother as a morph, then finally doing it with Shards encouraging her.

Well Rezzy herself is a single trait. She wouldn't be as loving to Ori and Kitera since they were born Regular and given a trait with an item.
She would stop treating them as badly though and accept their presence

Oh you know what would be cute, if she showed her grandmother too. (Too lazy to look up the spelling of her name) not that she'd get a big reaction, but she'd still be happy to show off the change to anyone but her mother.

She'd probably bounce around excitedly showing off her trait change to the pokemon she's met before and knows a little bit, letting out her more social side, but close back up as soon as Shards suggests showing their mother.

Nope they evolve just like a regular Ponyta or Charmander. They just need to be the right level before the evolution drawing. Then you just either draw or write about them evolving or have someone else draw it. Only time a Pokemon needs a stone to evolve is if they evolve by special means *friendship, trading, certain move, stone* or if they're a crossbreed containing a Pokemon who can evolve and one who can't
