Meet and greet,Repeat the priest.
The homily
Is more or less personal beliefs.
He's preaching politics,
With a religious cover-up.
It's not relevant to the gospel
In any way, shape, or form.
His flesh is just lunch,
His blood is cheap wine.
Let's all believe this now,
And Him, you will find:
Our Father means a 7th inning stretch,
The spreading of peace, talking time.
Silence is silver,
Texting is golden.
Pull out your phone, check your inbox.
Call your Aunt, He doesn't mind.
Abortion is bad, and so are the gays.
If you ask them why,
Because Jesus said so.
It's not about religion anymore,
It's about whose religion is better,
Bigger.
Stronger.
Richer.
And we're the best,
So we have the power
To do what we want.

After reading through this piece for the sixth time,
I need to point-out that "The Church" has been involved
with Politics from the "get-go"!
And the Church, talked about here, IS the richest Church
on earth! However, "The Mormons" are catching up and
are right behind "this one" in shear material wealth!
One can "feel" the anger that the Author possesses!

Church is for people who have an intrinsic
fear of the unknown! Like me! I fear the unknown!
I just don't go to church! I don't know what to
Believe! I try not to think about it!
A lot of people use the Church as a family/social
event, that's okay! I don't care what people believe-in or do in that regard, as long as they
leave me alone....

I was forced to go to Church when I was your age! I'm
still confused! Worse than ever! I used to "Day-Dream"..
Study the architecture...notice Mrs. Jones wig is
not on straight...Oooo, that guy is asleep over there.
I did enjoy the "Chick" who played the Organ!
I like what my Grandpa Fennell said:

You wrote "Priest"... You must be involved with "Catholic flavor"...If so,
I gotcha beat on boring! I was "raised", kicking and screaming, in the
Methodist Church! So Ha! Nothing on this planet is that boring! Dull! Mind killing......
