Sure, my skeletonIs barely listening
And I'm not hanging
Onto just anything.
I've got my head
Barely on my neck,
Beginning to break
Off my shoulders.
I've got my eyes
In my hands,
Because gravity
Pulls them further
Down, down.
Bones crack,
And I'm tapped
For all I've got.
And what I've got
Are a few extra limbs
Climbing out
And finally swear to me
That they win.
When my eyelids close,
The whole world knows
That I'm opposed
To the light that grows.
So I dream of tomorrow
And think of yesterday,
Looking back on the future
And reminiscent of the past.
No one lives without regrets
And that's why my dreams
Tend to haunt me.
And when I wake up
From my wretched realms,
My face is flushed
And my eyes are numb.
My hands on my face,
My nose on my thumb.
I yawn and stretch,
I wish the day was done.
Or at least, I wish
That I hadn't gone to sleep
At the time of one.
