heh, yeah, I try. where I live I'm like, one of few athiests in a sea of conservative christians, so I've had a lot of chances to think of reasons to validate my beliefs.

eh, i don't think god is evil, if there is a god. this was merely a satire on religion. they continue to praise this invisible, supposedly benevolent entity while all this shit is going on in the world. i just don't get how they can continue to believe...

People believe for various reasons. A friend of mine claims to have been through various miracles. For the most part people believe because they were raised to believe. Kind of sad really. They buy it all without question. Personally I blame the Republicans.

But. I heard a term once: "the god of the gaps."
and basically what that refers to is that we, as mere humans, do not have an understanding of how the world began. and because we do not understand, we created the idea of god to fill in the "gaps" of our knowledge.
so, my point is, just because we don't understand how the world came to be doesn't mean that a god necessarily created it.
because of the nature of this topic, obviously no one was there at creation. so how can we ever know? and, people did not start writing history for a LONG time after we existed. so how can we ever really know what happened?

Mmmhmmm, interesting. I believe there is an after life. As stated before I believe in the Abrahamic God to an extent. I also believe the answers will become clear at some point after we die, but not immediately. All speculation of course, indeed we simply cannot know in this life. Unless we invent time travel.
