Description
It starts out with the head,
as it's supposed to from birth
Simply a case that protects
The only thing I truly own:
my brain.

Let's face my face,
which is a canvas and vessel
for all those pesky emotions
and senses and lies, like
makeup and polite smiles.

Travel south to my neck,
My prized possession!
Because God knows
without it,
I'd surely lose my mind.

My prize is held up
by arms and shoulders
that relieve burdens
by giving hugs
and receiving tears.

But arms just save the best for last:
At the end sits the hands
that hold so much power:
to work, to write,
to touch.

My hands can guide you to my chest
that holds my heart, my life,
which is protected only by an ivory cage,
cynicism,
and two sexy tumors.

Below that sits the home
where my butterflies live
along with warm fuzzy feelings,
and the fuel
that allows me to be.

Let's move on to a place
with a lot of power.
It can make babies
and break men
and dole out pleasure and pain at will.

Plants have roots,
Why should humans be any different?
My legs and feet are my foundation
my mobility
everything I need.

My body:
Bag of blood and bones
of thoughts and hopes
of love and dreams
of life.
