Description
Points to the people that remember this model. Even more points if you remember the past texturing. This is a model of a Keyblade inspired by Billy Hatcher. I made this a while ago when I still knew almost nothing about 3D modeling. I was sorting out some of my Portal 3D models and stumbled across this file.
I updated the gold texture along with the metal grass and water colors. I don't have time to work on this more so I haven't updated the geometry or anything serious like that.

What program did you use to make this? It's really cool.

I used Blender 2.56 at the time. The current version is 2.59 which you can find here: [link]
Blender is free and is probably the best 3D modeler accessible to everyone with no strings attached. If you pick up 3D modeling, welcome to the community!

I have done some but I'm REALLY bad at it. I need practice.

I was horrible at it too. This is one of my first serious 3D models. If you look throughout my gallery, you'll see how much I have progressed over a year or so of me teaching myself. You'll also see that what brought me into animation and 3D modeling was a total addiction to a Gamecube game called "Billy Hatcher". It's odd how something so small can change your life. I say that because I'm going to the Art Institute of Seattle to learn. Then, I'm hoping to work for Blue Sky Studios or Pixar. It all began with an addiction to the game, and writing a fanfic that I was to base an animation on.
Sorry to ramble. point is, practice isn't everything, you need drive too. Mine was Billy Hatcher originally. Now, it's simply because 3D modeling and animation is the ability to do and make what you want. Creative freedom. I want that.
Lastly perfectionism is an obstacle to overcome. I'm working on that too.

Maybe. I like Illustration more than animation but it's fun to watch them make it.
