I don't think the Guy with the theory was even on topic from the start. Wtf? She asked a simple question and he went right off topic. I can see why the two ladies were irritated at him and why the other guy feel asleep.

I know folks like this can be intolerable when their (pretty crazy but nonetheless rather interesting) ideas aren't open to discussion, but I have to say they'd still be more interesting than some people I've known in the past.

They can be fun for a while. However, if they just stop acknowledging anything you say, but then continue to attempt to pursuade you it can sometimes get irritating or boring especially if it goes on for over a year, which is my case. One member falls asleep, the other two are bewildered.

Oh yeah, I suppose that would be annoying. I mostly read about conspiracy theories (either on forums, or in pre-written articles and books and such), so I don't really have any experience talking to one of those guys in person.

Well, just be prepared if do meet one of them. They might end up saying something that will cause you to burst out laughing. There was a time when he kept attempting to convince my freethinkers group that souls exist. This was a very long, drawn-out debate and then he suddenly said, "Alright, it's aliens. It's all aliens" and I and others had to look away and try our hardest not to laugh just because his latest statement came out of nowhere. That actually became one of the few fun debates with him.

I have read a book of short stories on the theme that angels are aliens that convince humans to kill themselves off so the aliens can sell earth away.
