I took a figurative drawing class once, and the model only stayed in the same pose for 20 minutes at a time, then they kept switching!! I think you learn alot more the more time you have, and you do an excellent job capturing that!!

yeah it was the same for my first year class with 20 minutes at most but i'm so glad that we get longer poses now. but don't get confused, the model does the pose in 20 minute intervals, otherwise he would probably die hahaha

I used to do a bit of modeling, which is how I got into art in the first place. Our sittings (standings) were always for a full hour. I once sat naked on a slatted wooden chair for an hour with bowling balls hanging from my genitals. I nearly strained my arse through the chair by the time I was through.
These days I'm found at the other more comfortable side of the easle.

hahaha...that is a funny story, not the misfortune you went through...but you have to admit it was funny...bowling balls... lol!! I would hate having to pick the splinters out of yer @$$ later!!
More recently one of my fellow artist friend, decided to do the modeling part, and she was in the same pose for 3 hours, not straight mind you, and it was a great pose, but due to it was a hard wooden chair under the thin upholstery, she did state her back was hurting later...she had fun...but I think based on the complaint, i would stay on the other side of the easel as well!!

I think if I had to model for 3 hours, I wouldn't want to be straight either.

Yes, it's a funny story, but true.
check out my Mr.Tetanus section of my gallery for a bit of an idea of what I do for kicks, when I'm not up to my elbows in paint.

ouch. I hope everyone in that class made sure to draw the stretched scrotum and bowling balls and that is wasn't all for naught hahaha

There were some interesting works done that night, that's for sure.
The funny thing is, the gallery/studio where I used to model/draw, was located right in the city centre, and people used to just walk straight in to have a look. When people walked in and saw me sitting like that.. well, you can imagine.

Good to see you're posting a whole lot of stuff. I directed a whole bunch of people your way to check out your work. Hope you don't mind. Hopefully it gave your page a few extra hits. You deserve it.
