You did a great job. Much better than I did the other day. I really struggle getting getting good shots at aquariums I love Tangs.

Thank you so much.
I watched the fish for a bit to see if he swam in a pattern. Watching an animals behavious really helps to get the shot you want. I kept really still, lens flush with the glass, lots of patience and this was my result. Just try different things until you get the shot you want. Patience is one of the key factors, something I've learnt since starting photography

Thanks for the advice. I think that's why I struggle with aquariums, usually the people behind you are trying to move you along all the time. Never get a chance to to stay still long enough

You're very welcome.
That's why I stand back, let them all look and go back when they have passed (if you're not pressed for time) I usually allow all day for each photo shoot incase I encounter situations like this

Very good idea I'll have to make sure I allow more time next time I go

The glass was very thick and I didn't think the shot would come out but it came out so well that I now want to try a photo shoot at an aquarium. This was quite a big tank too and loads of fish swimming about so it was difficult to catch one fish on it's own but I managed with a little patience

Were you inside the tank with a water resistant camera, or just outside?

DeadlyDonna In reply to KoR-3 [2007-08-23 18:27:10 +0000 UTC]
I took it through very thick glass. I don't have a water resistant case for my camera, not yet anyway

Thank you sweetie. I wasn't sure how well my lens would cope with the thickness of that glass. I'm quite pleased by the result.

Thank you sweetie. 1st time on an Aquarium and quite hard too. You've got lots going against you, but very rewarding when your shots come out well. I took loads but only landed up with a handful

Very Welcome Donna i have not tried aquarium shots in recent years but have been told any underwater/trough water and glass photos are hard to get.
