Description
This is the companion doll I made to accompany Nursey. I think I sculpted his body and head better than I did on Nursey, but I did him second, so i had a little bit more experience to go on. Once again, I am extremely pleased with the finished product (Especially how nicely he looks with the neckbrace and the bandages).Bisque (Body), Glass (Eyes), Foam, Yarn, Fabric, safety pins, tra la la, oh and I forgot to mention on the Nursey Doll: they are painted with acrylics.

Wow, that's amazing. Love the colors and the way it's lifelike and safety-pin-y and....yeah. It's just awesome. Kinda reminds me of Edward Scissorhands, i don't know why. @_@

The tiny thumbnail of this is creepy as hell...I suppose the actual image isn't. It's very nicely done. Cool color choice.

I would so buy this, if I could. You did an awesome job on this, it may be the first thing I have ever seen of your art, but I thoroughly enjoyed looking at it's beauty.. Especially the colors, I adore the colors, and how the bandages look. You did so good.

i dont understand why you would want to design something with such awesome talent that symbolizes so much pain. it is truly an amazing work, but at the same time it isn't pleasant. i dont know about others, but it makes me think of awful pain, and to create something that you thought of entirely, that its purpose is too look half dead is kind of sad...i like it, but i dont. i cant describe it. this is my 11th time visiting this one picture, something keeps drawing me back to it. i dont know..

I haven't even been able to get to a lot of comments, but i am glad i clicked on yours. Thanks for the comment, first of all. Secondly...I am not sure that i can wholeheartly give you the answer you are looking for. To me, I see something completely different from pain and the dead. I started drawing things with no eyes, because eyes scare me. Not so much as they did once i suppose, but I have trouble looking people in the face even when i am confortable around them...but I also have a strange fascination with neckbraces, ever since i saw some guy wearing one on the street. The very shape of them gets me all excited. I am the same with trees, to tell the truth, and I actually am doing a picture with trees right now...so i am not entirely sure how to explain what i mean...it's meaning is most likely given up to those who look at it.

hmm. i just find it sad. even though this thing isn't living, it feels nothing, it looks so upsetting and in so much pain. it is really good, but i also think that you would make even more incredible works that involve liveliness and happiness and color. but of course your style isn't up to me. congrats on the daily deviation though...

at first i thought it was anegative image with the greens being red in reverse etc. This is an exceptional work but i can see it having commercial possibilities as well... coming to a toy store in time for christmas 06? great work!

I wish I knew more, to formulate my question well...but was wondering about the acrylic. Does it hold up well, on bisque? Is it a special acrylic just for that?
Nice work...I have learned a bit first hand how difficult it can be to work in clay, and to sculpt. Respect and admiration.
