THIS MODEL HAS BEEN UPDATEDshortly after the invasion of Earth in 2350 SC-77 was tasked to build machines to counter the aliens war machines. the Devastator was the first LDM (Large Defense Machine) to be produced deadpool7100.deviantart.com/ar… . after a few weeks of combat it was due for repairs and was given some minor upgrades deadpool7100.deviantart.com/ar… . recently the fighting has been more intense, the aliens now see us as a threat instead of just an inconvenience. the Devastator received massive damage and had to be completely re-fit with a new internal structure.
The Devastator is the bulkiest of the three current LDM's it has the most armor and ammo, but sacrifices movement speed. it is also the first LDM and until the most recent upgrade it was thought that the avalanche would replace it.
the main weapon is the custom built mark 3 Chain gun on the left arm, the ammo is capable of easily penetrating the armor of alien machines and can sustain a fire rate of 6000 RPM
the blade is infused with plasma and can slice through anything in it's path
the dev, is also equipped with dual missile launchers for a total of 28 seeker missiles and 2 heavy rockets
the dual heli-blade arms and foot-mounted jet assists are used to move it over barriers it is incapable of climbing, they can lift the LDM to a height of 10 stories although, it has been known to be pushed higher.

It's a real shame that Bionicle quality decreased over the years until at its end, the parts where nearly worthless and broke on the second use. I've got a massive collection of bionicles in my garages (having the entire first series of Toa and the second one) and would try to make something like this- but I'd lose even more of my newer joint pieces due to them being shoddily made. It's a real shame, and had I known they would be of such poor quality- I would have bought duplicates of the original bionicles purely for parts.

The problem was that they switched to cheaper plastics and weakened the design. If you saw the original double socket joint sticks (with the multiple holes in the middle), they were solidly built and reinforced, like the original single socket 'hands' used with the original series of Toa.
Then they cheaped out so bad that the socket joints were only made up of a single line of plastic with zero reinforcement.

yep really sucks on big builds when a part cracks and it all fails...
i always try to get older parts when i make bricklink orders for the same reason!

Oh yeah, those new 'hero' series? Yeah, all they seem good for is parts.
Still makes me laugh how hard the complexity of bionicles dropped over the years. They went from an average of around sixty or so all the way down to thirty. At least kids now get the better Star Wars sets, although those are a bit dumbed down as well.
Really, it's a shame how the non-franchise original Lego sets have decreased in difficulty to build, and the simple ability to build whatever you wanted with them. Besides the extremely advanced robotics kit and creator sets, I've noticed from simply looking at the pictures that they've gone a bit downhill.

Awesome design. I think the legs are the best part. I'm going to have to use those pieces when I finally make a Gundam-looking MOC. However, the cockpit looks a little strange, but that might just be me.
As for the weapons.... I believe the trope "MORE DAKKA" describes them perfectly.

That torso/cockpit is fine
Those arms are great, and the minigun looks really nice.
Even the legs are nice, but those feet. OH THOSE FEET! they need some work <:I
