Neat, kinda like a cross between Zilla, Gorosaurus, and Zigra! But why is he named after an ancient mammal?

Mastodon seemed like a perfect name for him, it was originally named after the band mastodon because i was going to use colony of birchmen in my clash of the titans video, so i guess i just kept it
