This piece is amazing! It has strong character design, a great color palette, it naturally leads the eye to the focal point of the piece, and has an amazing sense of adventure. I cannot express how much i love this piece.

I wanted to ask you these questions for a long time now:
How do you get these realistic values all straight out of your mind? I'm analysing many of your paintings in b/w and there are so many details all presented in perfect (as it seems to me) value combinations.
Did you just practice by copying lots of black&white photography? And do you paint without colors and add them afterwards? I'd be very thankful for some insights on this topic!
