= Background Information =

Yogen was born into the Bata lands, the Eastern Highlands made her feel warmed and welcomed when she was just a young pup. Her mother, Mochi, raised her away from their home, though she wasn’t left unprotected in her birthing. Mochi’s mate, Tusca, was at her side as she brought their little daughter into the world. Obis blood ran in their veins and so brought them together in tight, honoring bonds of family and friendship.

As she grew older, Yogen learned the harsh reality of their world. Tusca made it very clear that she was to stick close to home and never wader on her own, ever! Her father drilled it into her young mind that all sorts of creatures, prey and predator alike, were out to kill them. Thoroughly frightened, Yogen stayed close to her mother and father and was schooled properly with the other pups. As she learned the history of their world and the Obis and Keisi blood lines, she felt more and more protected and at peace with where she lived.

However, things started changing around her. Mochi and Tusca split, no longer a mated pair and Yogen was left with her mother. Mochi seemed in decline after the mating pair had broken up and she started to let her careful, close care of Yogen go forgotten. Left to keep herself occupied, Yogen spent many days and nights studying the other lands of The Underground they called home. A year passed and Yogen had finally been given permission to take her leave of her once cozy home. There would be no looking back as she raced from her mother’s cottage and struck out to make her own place of residence. Yogen settled on the outskirts of her birth village, studying plants, mostly herbs, as she drove herself mad with the idea of a cure. If no cure could be found, and she very quickly realized this, she turned to trying to dampen symptoms. Although, without test subjects, Yogen’s studies didn’t last more than a month or so. She wasn’t brave enough to infect herself and refused to get near infected predators.

Abandoning the study of herbs, Yogen traveled West, where she met the young female Chiyo. They became quick friends and while Chiyo told her all about the Vlana blood lines, Yogen let her mind wander to that of profit. Chiyo’s skilled paws in crafting fetched her a pretty penny every now and then and Yogen wanted that kind of riches as well. Staying at Chiyo’s side and her village, she began testing different false prophecies and paw readings on simpletons in the area. When no one grew weary of her, her ‘power’ went to her head and she urged Chiyo to move. Though reluctant, Chiyo agreed, her feelings too strong for her new friend.

Now back in her own home of Bata, Yogen used her prophecies to fool others in her village into spending their items and coins in her shop. Using fake paw readings, false future tellings and a most certain garbage ‘crystal ball’, Yogen played with other Suka’s emotions and drew them into her shop each and every day. Another year passed and she still preyed on the fools brave enough to come to her, though most of the village knew by then that she was nothing but a false prophet and lying con-artist. Yogen doesn’t seem to mind. She has visions of her future, visions of travelling and gathering a following of simple minded wanderers. What she would do with that gathering of Sukas, if it were to happen, she doesn’t quite know and has yet to see any ‘visions’ about that future.
