oh i can show you, you see like a box right of where you type your reply or anyother message? below the box you should see two links that say "emoticons" and "top"
click on the emoticon link and you should get a list of them, and then they give you a code to the left of where the emoticon it, and you just type that in and put a : on either side
and you're not a dumbass ive just recently learned how to use them
