HOLY CRAP THE BACKGROUND TOOK FOREVER.Not entirely satisfied, but I'm pretty happy with the page overall! Sorry for the delay in getting the page up, but... you can see why XDD
I used a couple brushes, but for the life of me I have no idea where they came from. They've been in my folder for brushes since like... the beginning of time >_<

Lineart in Manga Studio
Color in Photoshop CS4
Shaded in the Pen Opacity brush;
I have a folder of various textures and pattern brushes I pull from for clothing and backgrounds from Nathan Brown, Green Eyed Butterfly, and Shivika's Corner.
CLOSEUPS, because a lot of the detail gets lost!

I love the brush texture in the water and sky. The smaller frames are marvelous. My only suggestion is that the "land" part of the landscape is a little flat and could use some darker shadows.
As for the brushes, if you still have the original files they should have metadata when viewed on bridge. Otherwise you may be screwed.

Yeah, by the time I got to the land I was ready to shoot myself. I don't have any nice brushes to simulate grass or anything, so doing it by hand, combined with sand, was just a pain in the dick. I ended up calling it quits before I was fully satisfied, lest I spent another 4 hours appeasing my aesthetic sense as far as the land was concerned XD
Totally need to push the values more!

Yup! Once it's all compiled. Volume 2 is chapters 6-10. I'll be selling individual issues at cons and via the web for people interested in those, but I haven't started preparing for it yet XD

Hahah, they love the water. Originally this scene was going to be them playing in the fountain, but I changed it last minute XDDD The selkies love the seaaaa!

Really nice work on the water especially.
I like your nice, clean painting style... it goes well with the linework. It's pretty cool to be able to see details like the selkies' pale, bluish-tinted skin tone and Aubrey's eyeshadow that don't really show up in manga tones.
