He shouldn't be too mad. He does make a cute donkey. I like the hairs on his chinnie chin chin.
Maybe if he could find something to like about being a donkey, not only might it make it not so bad, it might also be a nice little screw you to the fairy that changed him into one.

There are things about it he becomes accustomed to, eventually. But (without spoiling anything) he has a lot riding on being human. It would certainly be nice for him to enjoy it, but I don't see it happening in his situation. ^^"

I can understand that. I mean, sure, being a donkey might not be that bad if you can get used to it and learn to see at least some good in it. One could maybe even make a life for themselves as one that's at least somewhat fulfilling.
However, would it really be worth giving up all of the good things about being human that you simply couldn't do as a donkey (even taking into consideration accommodating and trying really hard). Maybe if instincts (or just getting used to it) come into play making donkey stuff satisfying and being that way not feeling wrong and as though you're missing out, it might seem all right. However, again, would it really be worth it what you're losing if you have a choice in the matter. If you don't, well that would be a drag but at least then, there's less shame in letting go and accepting it.
