Octo Expansion is a rage DLC in my opinion due to it's hard levels.

I mean if you want all the special gear you have to, but at least they give you a choice so you can try again later at your leisure.

Even if you have faded mem cakes, its still going to count towards unlocking the extra gear.
I unlocked the Octoling replica gear and i had one faded mem cake in there and it still unlocked

Yeah, I managed to get the Neo and Null gear because of that. But if you want that secret final boss, THAT'S when they all have to be legit.
