Hello! This is a cast of character designs I've done for my upcoming series: Jake and Beta. It takes place in the near future when humans are dealing with human-like AI and how I believe the world might handle the situation. It focuses on an Outmode, an old model, named Jake, and a brand new model named Beta. Enjoy!

So a couple weeks ago I figured out what direction I want to go with the gang.

At first I wanted to just open it up randomly. Jake and Beta have to find a birthday gift for Pabot. No one seemed to like this idea so I scrapped it and started over. No use starting with a failed plot.

Then I decided to make it introduce one of the primary antagonists. Jake and Beta deliver a package that was mistakenly put on their doorstep. It wasn't a bad plot in my eyes, but it seemed a bit... easy to predict. So I threw out that one too.

Now I've figured out what I want. For the first episode I think you should be able to understand a few things about the world.
1) What defines a robot?
2) How do humans see robots? How do robots see humans?

With this in mind, I started over once again. To put short, I'm starting the series where Jake and Beta meet. How does a new model meet up with one so old?

Beta is born into a world where she is to serve the human race. Child at mind, Beta fails to realize how dark a world can be. Losing contact from her company, she is forced to wander the unfamiliar city with an outdated robot named Jake.

The city is a dangerous place; however, if one can avoid both the law and the "Outmodes" one can survive.

So here we have the main cast of robots. Jake, Beta, and Pabot are the protagonists. Becky, Turret, SSK8R, and Ratchet are the main antagonists.

Jake: A machine that hasn't quite given up on the world and hopes for improvements in the near future. Refuses to look back in the past.
Beta: A confused new unit that seeks a guide to aid her. Content with how humans treat machines.
Pabot: A robot that has lost his mind over the years.

Becky: A disturbed machine wanting to know where she belongs. Had joined SSK8R's group in her early years.
Turret: A mute machine that acts as SSK8R's heavy artillery.
SSK8R: A robot that sees the human race incapable of running the Earth.
Ratchet: Recently taken in by SSK8R's gang to replace their old mechanic.

I'll post more information about each as I get more of the script worked out. I'm about 1/3rd done. I just wanted to do some art really XD

Oh, and SSK8R is leaning on an imaginary wall >.>
