Description Finally I managed to finish this picture! Drew this a while back and really wanted to colour it, but I got side-tracked with other things, and did not get inspired enough to finish the whole thing until now.

As you can see, it's Korra from the "Avatar" series created by Mike and Brian and produced by Viacom and Nickelodeon. This will be the main character to the upcoming spin-off "Avatar: Legend of Korra" that will air in 2012. Being a huge fan of the original show, I am really excited in watching this.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Hm, I'm not really seeing the "fury" here.

You've got her model down, but the pose you've drawn her in isn't very dynamic. Her feet are still positioned as if she's standing straight up, when pretty much every move in bending calls for a different stance. Her left arm is straight as if she's earthbending, but you've got an air trail following in an arc that's barely curved. Airbending is all about circles and rotations, while firebending is based on the semi-acrobatic style used by Northern Shaolin monks. You've conveyed neither of those here, and as a result she looks stiff and uninteresting.

Like I said, you've drawn her pretty much on-model, but your posing needs work. I would advise watching a few YouTube videos of Ba Gua and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu (or just more fight scenes from the show) to get a feel for how much benders tend to move around when manipulating the elements.

Thanks for the critique! Always nice to read well structured posts like these, regardless of how negative or positive they are.

I know fully well that the pose isn't following the bending techniques of the show and I agree it doesn't look extremely dynamic, especially when I don't have a good focus point in the picture. I am still learning how to draw characters in dynamic positions and this was the closest I could get in making it look more interesting. I'm currently in the process of practicing perspective, so I hope to overcome this issue in the near future.

When I have got more experience regarding certain drawing techniques, I will take your advice and begin studying those fighting poses, the next time I draw some "Avatar" fanart.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

This is very good! I especially like the realistic muscle structure she has.
