For those who missed the stream. This is the result.Everything is done in blender [link]
Needs some polishing though. And I still need the Pinkiebounce
Edit: now with shadow and polished leg movements in the run cycle. Also I made it longer from 8 frames like in the show to 12 frames.

Nice to see these rendered in cycles!
I love Pinkie's movement, it's the most fluid. However, the hind legs still snap into place.
What is up with Surprises legs, though! She's going to have a heart attack XD!

Hmm, I made the canter like in the show with 8 frames but it does appear a bit fast... perheps the legs should bend less or I should strech it out a bit

Maybe try some key-framing with the 8 known places, then add more frames into the same amount of time, making it look smoother...
I'm not to knowledgeable about animation in blender though, so I'm not sure how easy that would be.

I actually have keyframes for all 8 frames except for when it wasn't neccessary and the legs were in the right place anyways. I'll have to figure something out with it...

Quick question: how did you set up the bone structure? I was going to attempt to work with some of 's models, and, well, those aren't animated and yours are. I'm especially interested in the facial structure. Granted, I'm going to be experimenting in Lightwave 3D, so the setup might be a bit different, but please, I'd love to know.

I basically just have the joints like the pones in the show have and I also have some pointers. The face is animated with shape keys.

Hmm, from what I've seen this she should be in a regular trot. Suprise would be in a canter. I think only Rarity galloped once in the show, otherwise they all canter

No, we've seen each of them gallop hard a few times when presented with danger.

As far as I know only Rarity did when she got a green mane. In other instances it's always been a canter

It's well defined in equestrian terms [link] In a gallop they move front and back legs completely seperately and and has a moment where all legs are off the ground. In the show they move a diagonal front leg with a back leg and at least one hoof is always on the ground. Although it does looks more like a gallop by definition only this was one [link]
