My only "problem" is that they look too much like real horses. that just bugs me a bit otherwise its a unique art style so keep it up.

It's possible he meant it looks too little anthro compared to the actual MLP FiM art style - same way some bronies dislike earlier MLP generation ponies, because they look too much like actual ponies and have less human details. 
I don't think you should worry too much about it, your drawing is amazing I think! Keep up the good work! ^^

I'm confused now, doesn't antro means humanlike? I didn't think "my" ponies were more humanlike than those in the show. I try to make them act horsy if that is a word

Yes, anthro means humanlike. But I said I think he meant they look too little anthro (i.e. too much like a real pony, not too little). But it's just his opinion if so; I personally think your style as it is now is just fine - I like it. :3
And I'm sorry if my grammar confuses you, I sometimes stack words slightly different from what I'm supposed to because English isn't my first language. xD
