Lugen is capable of controlling and manipulating blood, turning them into shapes such as blades to slice and tear as well as projecting them to shoot at others. His limitation is that he can only control free blood; any that is outside the body or taken from wounds and is unable to puppeteer anyone. Prior to his current residence, he would have to cut himself in order to take out blood for use, causing anemia due to loss of blood or harvest from dead bodies he'd cut open. At the moment due to his custom clothes, he dorns a vest that stores blood packs so he doesn't need to self-inflict. However, if in emergencies and running out of blood packs, he will. (He hides a small blade inside the large zipper of his clothes, but if unable to reach it, he'll just bite himself).

Body Effects:

His eyes change colour depending on his health and mental state. The deeper and vibrant the red, the healthier he is. Upon it fading pink, he is either sick, extremely hungry or exceptionally hurt. Upon a more fragmented mental state/blood-lust, his eyes turn a much darker and lifeless shade. To keep himself healthy and able to use his ability, he has to eat large portions of food constantly less his anemia and patchy mental state catches up to him.

His pupils seem to change shape, usually having the shape of large stars. They become akin to minus bars when he's sickly and normal, albeit small, dots in peculiar circumstances.

Lugen is a spunky and energetic kid, always found smiling and bursting forward to the skies, always exploring. Easily attracted to people, Lugen is fond of spending time socialising and willing to make as many friends as possible. With an affable and childish nature, he is accepting of almost anyone and everyone he meets. The kid is steadfast to anything he's put his heart in and longs to be a superhero that everyone loves. Due to this, he's quick to provide assistance to those who need it and tries his best to be charitable.

Lugen's flaws however harbour on a mentally-concerning level. It's easy to note his calm nature of speaking about dark themes such as death or suffering, as well as zoning out mid-sentence and even forgetting things that have just happened. Lugen also displays an extremely skewed perception of concepts such as morals and justice, the lines between right and wrong muddled together especially in case of people. Lugen is quick to latch onto those around him and because of this, he labels many as heroes, harbouring a distinct hatred to those he calls 'wrong-doers' or villains. However, he turns a blind eye to friends that have done similar despicable acts; even fiercely denying them.

His mind conjures the world as one of comic book characters, with some destined to be main characters and others meant to die for the greater good. There are points where his delusions and patchy mental state pass thresholds due to discomforting triggers, lack of health or even overuse of ability (bloodlust), pushing him to be destructive and unable to control impulsions.

"My prologue definitely sounds like it belongs in a comic book!"Lugen was raised in a murky environment: his parents slaves in an underground special-exporting business and himself an unlucky accident. He’d grown up watching (and learning) that ill-treatment was a norm to his kind, and for the child there was no excuses to not be battered around by his superiors. Forced to take up small errands while his parents shoveled up whatever was thrown at them, Lugen couldn’t help but accept that his life was going to be like this.

Though, there was that little spark inside him that yearned for something more.

His parents, exhausted and hopeless as they were, pushed for their son to believe he’d get out of here and save himself. Perhaps those very words were what made his superhero phase come into being.

Lugen soon became obsessed, a naive brat tied with endless strings of mistakes, that he’d change the world once he got out and that his terrible beginning was just like any other superhero’s. And so he pushed himself to do more, get underneath his superiors’ skin through an overly-curious nature and find out what it took to escape. Truth is though, when you’re a servant serving under a mafia, and you’re caught snooping around, chances are that you've just made a huge error in calculations.

Grabbed by the back of his neck, the pre-teen watched as his parents were shot. Point-blank range, 5mm caliber to the middle of the forehead. Lugen didn't remember the last time he’d cried this hard, but he did remember the power coursing through his veins when he'd used his parents blood to decapitate.

Blood manipulation.

“...Not a bad ability for a cleaner actually. Maybe you still have some use.”

Instead of offing the kid as once planned, he was immediately put back to work, locked up draining blood from corpses and scrubbing rooms after unfortunate business deals. Soon enough the horrid stench of rotting no longer bothered him, cutting through limbs was the same as any other meat and no ill reactions were given when he was chucked his parents’ formal payment of hardly edible scrap-food for a job well done.

The few years that passed using his ability was training, his power manifesting in his veins until it felt as natural as breathing. Imagining himself fight through his captors with his bloodied hands excited him. If that was how he was going to escape, he’d continue to get stronger. Though, where the heck even was the exit in this place, he wouldn’t know.

Scrambling around one day after an errand in search, the teenager had found the exit, double-taking before attempting to leave. That’s when he was caught once more, a blow to his gut as Lugen stumbled to the ground. He was prepared for this, pulling a stream of blood when he was kicked more rendering him unable to move. A fool for thinking he could escape? Probably. However, as the teen found himself being dragged away his eyes met with the one who would soon become his new master.

Rense Mazereeuw.

The rich male had been there for a meeting of sorts, having watched the short tussle as he was to leave. Next thing he knew, Lugen found himself sold to Rense due to the fact that he was “interesting”. The key to his freedom was in fact a person. Being brought back to the male’s abode, to say he was starstruck was an understatement.

Now serving under Rense, or more so being cared for, Lugen would soon reveal just how terrible he was living in the outside world. A lack of knowledge in pretty much everything away from his confinement, it would take pushing and a tutor for him to begin truly grasping the concept of freedom.
As he learned, his heart was caught by the knowledge of the rebellion. To be a hero, to save others unlike his failure of saving his parents, to fight for freedom and justice, Lugen decided he wanted to join the battle. His name was going to be known, and following his savior and new master like the puppy he was didn’t sound too bad either, as he took a step forward.

Currently staying at his residence, he was taken in by him and owes his life to the guy. A lot like a troublesome puppy, he has a tendency to get into problems but it seems that it amuse Rense so he thinks it's a good thing.
"Master Rense is the bestest superhero ever! Wait no, he told me not to call him a superhero-- Um! He takes really good care of me! He also gives me everything and sometimes I'm real guilty about that--I heard he's super rich!"
Ko (Silent Ninja scarf Man)
A fellow special that also resides at Rense's, Lugen thinks he's a really cool guy. He tends to bug him for no reason asides that he wants to chat to him. He counts Ko as a friend, though it's doubtful that Ko thinks him in that way.
"I wonder how my memories taste! He doesn't talk all that much but, I don't know, he's fun to chat to! It feels like he's listening, but I just hope I'm not annoying him or anything--"
Petr (Serious Gardener lover Man)
A fellow special that also resides at Rense's, Lugen likes to learn how to garden from him. Petr has a tendency to tie Lugen down with vines when he's had enough of his grass being stepped on by overly curious kids. The short special looks up to Petr in his dedication to making sure Rense's greenery and flowers are beautiful every moment of the day.
"I wish he could photosynthesise, I think he'd enjoy that! Also Petr's hedges are so strong that when I try going through them, I get stuck at least once a day. That just shows how thick they are! I mean, don't tell him that--I'll be buried again and dirt is really hard to scrub off."
Lue (Suave Top butler Man)
A fellow special that also resides at Rense's, Lugen has yet to have a full interaction with him but he seems alright. Lugen admires the way that Lue is such a smooth butler in how he serves Rense at every beck and call. Lugen would definitely talk to him but there's a sort of intimidation to the quaint man.
"He's like... Master Rense's top dog. He's really great and he has like ice powers and that's real neat! Someday I'll get to really talk to him, maybe."
Tutor
A quaint teacher who tutors Lugen due to his averseness to going to real schools and fear of special discrimination. As Lugen has only ever learned how to speak through word-of-mouth, Lugen asked that he would be taught to read and write solely because then he can understand comic books better. Lugen cares for his tutor very much, looking up to the teacher almost as a second parent due to the amount of care and parental guidance (as well as sweets and hugs) that he receives.
"I'm always reminded that I'm a good boy and it's really fun learning! I'm just...very bad at it. But but but! I'll get there!"
