I'm normally not a big fan of fractual art but this one is just too good to pass up!

Thank you so much! I think the newest version of Apophysis is so much better. I prefer the muted gradients, although i have done some with super bright colors!

Ceramists would probably love to make something like this as a beautiful bowl. Glazing this would be in the not too easy category. Nice --/--, a reward for looking closely and a gloriously quiet rendition. secretly hidden, very nice.

Deborah-Valentine In reply to bukwessul [2006-11-06 00:01:45 +0000 UTC]

well actually they could digitally print a glaze decal and fire it on

Deborah-Valentine In reply to LawrenceDeDark [2006-11-06 00:12:13 +0000 UTC]

it is a super fat file rendered at a high ratio. Thanks and i am glad you enjoyed it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LawrenceDeDark In reply to Deborah-Valentine [2006-11-06 00:40:50 +0000 UTC]

I have only work with fractals few times... would it be rude to ask how long it took to render something so intricate?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deborah-Valentine In reply to LawrenceDeDark [2006-11-06 03:31:51 +0000 UTC]

well i was using a tutorial by and it takes about 15-20 minutes to get through it all, and then i change the settings and just play around.... which takes longer than to do the tut. i render it at a large size and usually takes about an hour or more depending.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LawrenceDeDark In reply to Deborah-Valentine [2006-11-06 03:59:02 +0000 UTC]

Ah, ... thanks for the info. I had some tragic pieces where I had my settings so goofed up the rendering took +8 hours.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deborah-Valentine In reply to LawrenceDeDark [2006-11-06 04:02:30 +0000 UTC]

well in the past the original apo DID take for fucking ever to render....i would have it on when i went to bed.

That's what I like about most Fractals, you can always use them as cool wallpapers. I always save my favorite frac's to my 'My Pictures' for later use as wallpaper. Your's definitely made it into my folder.

I really like Philippine tattoos as well. I have heard only the cannibals and healers in the hills have facial tattoos and snake bones woven into their hair.

A the everfamous Dayak tribe...I have some clippings from national geographic mag...I love the primitivist feel on their tatoos and their ritualistic way of living...they were headhunters back then werent they?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deborah-Valentine In reply to gromyko [2006-11-06 00:00:38 +0000 UTC]

when the christian missionaries came to borneo, the ones who survived tried to give the lord to the natives. most were eaten right away as they were white and the natives didnt see them as being human. in interviews with the natives who did convert, they said that christianity saved them alot of time. before they worshiped god they worshiped the birds in the foerest, and they had to do a ritual for each bird they saw making a small trek take all day. now they can travel great distances without any problems.

gromyko In reply to Deborah-Valentine [2006-11-06 05:13:32 +0000 UTC]

cant blame them really...their natives...their beliefs are endemic only to them...typicall of a unique culture...yes i saw some pictures where they put some mud and feathers on their body and dance to the tune of who knows what...but i like the beats...really nasty though..nevertheless archaic but great!!!

gromyko In reply to Deborah-Valentine [2006-11-05 07:06:45 +0000 UTC]

yes you are right...most of the tribe from tiboli cover almost all their bodies with tatooes!!Healers aka Mangagamots write ancient philippine texts as tatoos in their chests, they say its the way to call out magical spirits...sort of a magicians mark...
