Description
It seemed too late to turn back, and even though she called and called, no one seemed to hear her. The caverns were maze-like and confusing; no direction seemed right, and even though here and there light came down from above, she couldn't seem to navigate back. Only the young wolf's chanting mantra of "it's not so bad. it's not so bad." kept her calm, although her voice shook, and went absent completely when her next step sank into soft flooring. Impulse had her yank back, but the sand underneath her almost gripped back, and once again she fought to free her feet from their confines.

Prompt: Your escape from the vines has taken you further into the cavern, around twists and bends, and well away from your initial scare. Surely there aren't any more vines this far into the earth. After a brief pause spent catching you're breath, you continue on your journey. Unfortunately, your first step lands in something loose and sand-like. You move to pull your paw free, assuming you've stepped into a sandy pit, but find the task is more difficult than you imagined. In fact, it seems impossible and bit by bit, the sand swallows more and more of your leg. It takes all your might to finally free yourself and as you stumble back, you find nothing in front of you other than bare stone.
