Description
This is another reference for the characters in my book. Here we have Victor; debonair, suave and cunning gentlefox, chock full of British sensibilities. He was raised in metropolitan London during the 1850s and grew up among a terrible collection of characters. His urban lifestyle led him to develop disturbingly humanistic idiocyncracies, such as smoking and excessive drinking, and his silver tongue quickly granted him access to wealth, power, vixens and other assoted opulence. After being pulled into events far beyond his comprehension, however, he makes a mistake which costs him more than he could ever have imagined.
Running from his past and chasing a dying hope, Victor flees to the 'land of opportunity' so lauded by the humans. After years of struggle and toil, living on what he could scrounge, he makes his way Westward, following the footsteps of the pioneers. He arrives in the border states peniless and friendless, but, ever confident, he soon sets himself up as a self proclaimed 'avant-garde business pioneer'.
Victor is 23 years old around the time of the story. He is a well spoken, well educated fox with a sharp mind and an even sharper wit. Incredibly arrogant, he exudes confidence no matter the situation, and being a powerful wordsmith he is adept at out-foxing opponents with language. He is a skilled actor and charlatan, frequently conning his fellows--innocent or otherwise--out of their worldly possessions. He is relatively well known throughout the 'Valley as one not to trust, but few are aware of his troubled past in the far away land of England.
'Lying, cheating and stealing; respectable vocations in this grand country!' - Victor, Pg. 340
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, this guy can also serve as my alter ego here on DA (after all, he reacts the way I would in alot of situations).
Victor, A Fox's Smile story (c) me.

Uh, I use coloured pencils, but I think you might call them crayons in America. It takes for-freaking-ever, I can tell you that for nothing. If I was talented at digital art I'd do that instead.Β

No.Β We call colored pencils colored pencils and we call those wax things you use in elementary school crayons.Β I use colored pencils as well.Β I have better control over traditional media and I also don't really have access to any photo processing softwear (which I wouldn't know how to use anyway) other than a scanner ( which sometimes only distorts the image).

Yeah I do enjoy the tactile sense of traditional art, but sometimes I just get so sick of colouring I want to click a mouse and have it finished. You should get some quality artists pencils if you intend to do colouring properly. Those cheap boxes you get at the corner shop are no good for serious art; you want something vibrant that will blend well with other colours. Personally I put my stock in Faber Castell Polychromos, although they are very expensive.Β

wow! the end of this year, considering how long you planned to make the novel i expected it to be completed by the end of next year or middway through next year. i'm impressed yet again Good to know i won't have to wait very long

Deceitful-Fox In reply to abloodwolf [2011-01-04 02:46:35 +0000 UTC]
That's a goal not a promise, lol. Considering how much I have written now though and how far through the story I am that sounds like a reaosonable expectation. It depends just how long editing will take also, that will be a painful experience.

lol perhaps i was getting a little overexcited
Still good to know that it won't really take so long, I'm sure that editing won't really take that long
