I decided to do this meme thing, as I've recently scene some people do this sort of stuff. And I figured, who better than the two most powerful, crazy, and unsuccessful "villains" around. They also happen to be voiced by the same actor, so there's that.Related content

Kaos definitely. Because Kaos is actually a threat and a powerful villain, Zim's just pathetic.

Maybe, but he definitely has the ability to defend himself. If he wasn't an idiot like most Irkens seem to be, he could do a lot of damage, almost as much damage as he does on accident. XD

True, but Kaos is still the better one of the two, magic always beats technology and Kaos has a crap ton of it.

You'd be surprised actually. Magic may be powerful, but it often takes intense concentration or the user's own life energy to use. Along with this disadvantage, technology has the potential to cancel out magic with various means. I don't know any specific examples, but I'm sure they're out there. Tbh, I think that since Kaos is a "offense over defense" kind of person, he wouldn't invest in any defensive magic, causing the fight to end in a draw when whatever Zim uses explodes, killing them both. XD

Yeah probably, but he has survived several near-death experiences, falling from a 300 foot drop while electrified and caught dead centre in the force of a volcano. In addition, he does have his moments when he is unable to be hit, presumably defensive spells.
Plus if you've played as Kaos in Trap Team, you'd see just how powerful he truly is.

I have, and I'd say that most of the attacks he uses would be pretty much useless against say an Irkan mech. Plus, Kaos thinks straightforwardly, not flexibly. Zim's utter randomness would probably confuse the heck out of him. And if he was really desperate, he would use GIR.

Saying his magic wouldn't do well against an Irken mech doesn't seem to be too solid.
Kaos' list of attacks do include a powerful electro shock spell that does massive damage and cause paralysis, in addition there's the water spell that smashes opponents with a powerful waterfall that slows enemies down. Both of these would do some serious damage to machines, including Irken mechs since they are at the end of the day, machines.
Taking damage is irrelevant as well since one of Kaos' spells include an instant heal that has no way of being delayed or countered. There's also the Doom Sharks which ignore all terrain and his giant floating head form which shoots lasers that deal heavy damage at a fast pace. All of his attacks can be spammed constantly with no need for a recharge.

True, but most Irkan machinery is able to resist water and laser damage. I mean, it is advanced alien technology. Most of them can also float, and the doom sharks can't attack anything that's not on the ground. And powerful attacks that need recharging can have an advantage. If you focus on spamming an attack, it can be pretty devastating when something else attacks you.
Then there's GIR. He may be an idiot, but if Zim turns on his kill mode, he becomes a ruthless killing machine with incredible intelligence, agility, and fire power. Defensive spells are good, but you have to see the enemy coming to use them properly. Of course, once GIR was done with Kaos, he would go after Zim. Come to think of it, this could actually end how Dr. Eggman and that villain from Mega Man ended up.

Spamming attacks is no real disadvantage for Kaos, as not only can he still move at his normal speed when using his Elemental disk attacks, he can actually move faster if he focuses on one disk to slow down it's rotation, if he stops the rotation and it picks a specific element, he is actually stuck with using that one element constantly until he redoes the slow rotation, this means he can stick with his constant spamming healing spell while focusing on his other attacks. And regardless of how resistant to electricity, water and lasers machines are, nothing can last forever if constantly beaten down by the attacks endlessly, and if Kaos sticks to having a permanent healing spell, he could literally go on fighting for actual days, maybe even years since it heals him of everything.
That being said, his other elemental attacks include a powerful tornado attack that can launch anything in the air, including gigantic robots as shown in Trap Team, an earthquake attack that strikes three times every second, lasting for five. A Life Spell that slows down enemies and does lingering damage, an undead spell that makes a massive explosion of dark magic that also drops a healing item for Kaos to pick up. And there's the fire one, which does massive splash damage.
And that's just stating what he's capable of in Trap Team, I haven't even gone over his capabilities in the other games.

"Ew, no!" Kaos sneered. "Cheetos are so much better than that garbage!!!"
"Oh, it is on!!!" Zim said as he pulled out a blaster.
Kaos formed lightning in his hands. "Bring it!"
